The Curse of Oak Island

Anybody watch it? I'm a history need and I really enjoy watching and learning. I don't think they'll find Shakespeare's manuscripts, the Holy Grail, or anything like that.

What I do find amazing is that for 200 years or so people have been searching that island for something. I also find it amazing the excavation that went on hundreds of years ago with the tunnels. They have found tons of old artifacts which is good enough for me.

For those who think the artifacts are planted, and all that go easy on me. LOL

My uncle Boomer has a metal detector and most days he can't find his keys so every day is like Oak Island to him. Just sayin'.

Too much sugar combined with boredom has taken its toll.

Don't miss an episode.  Even have it set to record the series, just in case I do miss one.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they find in Smith's Cove. The last episode with the Astro Physicist where he over laid the constellation Taurus on the island and the stars matched up very closely with objects there was quite interesting.

Been watching it since the pilot season when it was REAL slow to develope and the theories they were pushing was sometimes far fetched. But the stuff they’re doing now with a more scientific approach is excellent TV.

Lost interest after the first half of the first season

I love watching it when I remember, I don't use the TV that much.

The first season was really really slow. But now they're finding thing, the excavation gets bigger each year too.

The narrator is still the same guy who ends 99% of his sentences in the form of a question. After commercial breaks they still recap everything (so there's a ton of filler) but it has gotten.

Just be honest with yourself Deak the words they use on the show are too big. ?

I seriously doubt any of the words on this silly show have more than 4 letters. We dont have cable at my house because everything on it is pablum like this.

You sir are correct, way above my pay grade on that one. I think I'm reaching the intellectual level where I'm going to start learning two syllable words.

There is only one plausible explanation to the Curse of Oak Island.  The borings, and the excavations are the work of some advanced civilization.  How many times have the searchers been stymied by material too hard for their drills to penetrate?

Guys with wooden shovels two hundred years ago certainly could not have excavated what all this equipment cannot breach.

Google has given us the ability to know everything and not be any smarter.

If they ever find the treasure, the series would be over. It's like those bigfoot shows. When they are so close to finding bigfoot, they leave to look somewhere else. The story is the search. It's not about finding anything.

I do find it amazing what all was accomplished back then by the original people who were there.

The Russians did it.

What is the curse ? That they spend all that time , money and effort and never find anything?

They need to bring the guys from gold rush in. They would have the whole island excavated and sluiced in 4 episodes.

I've never watched an episode.
