Wow!  I had -2 this morning, and it was painful to be out long enough to dust off the truck.

I think that's our total for the year So far. By now we should have 40-50 inches.  My snow puppy is no more, he's been softened by my wife. These guys as you probably know are built for mountai

I did 2 hours of snow removal last night at -5. It's funny how even at that temp if you dress for it you can still break a sweat. My cheeks were the only thing exposed and they burned after they thawed.

Ironically, global warming is what causes these polar vortexes.

That is what most climate scientist agree on. They also say that the winters will be colder in certain parts of the world. Climate change is not as simple as some people think it is.

Vortices??

I think both are acceptable.

Speel check doesn't like vortices, though.

Not the cold weather like many of you have been dealing with but we're in the midst of a heck of a storm that will continue into Tuesday...

Localized amounts up to 13 feet! Not too shabby. What is the population of these counties where the 5-13 deer is expected?

Deer? I can see what you're thinking about! The foothill/mountain communities and counties are all small with the exception of Lake Tahoe, but tourists from the valley and Bay Area can cause them to nearly double in size during winter (skiing/sledding) and summer (camping/hiking/fishing).

Sstupid auto correct LOL it was supposed to be 5-13 feet and it sounds like you figured that out.

That's some crazy snowfall. How do you do any type of snow removal? Bigger shovel? LOL

Fortunately the highest amounts fall in the high country well above where most people live. Most I've had to clear from a 3 day storm the past 20 or so years was 5ft, and that was a drawn out ordeal with a quad and snow blower. Worst part is when you think you're done and one of these guys comes through the neighborhood and puts a 3'x4' ice berm across the end of your driveway...

Oh trust me I'm used to those guys. We got 11 inches last Monday, so there was plenty at the end of the driveway.

54 degrees on my way to lake this afternoon!  Gonna be just as warm tomorrow.  Couldn’t resist heading out for last light.  Nothin to brag about except the temperature... Call me Brandin Cooks,  I couldn’t catch anything.

Ok...I guess there was one more thing to brag about ?

It'll hit our shore around midnight and my area around 2. Looks like it could be a mess. It's looking like the worst will be south of me, fingers crossed it stays that way.

They already think we’re crazy for simply living up here.

Every couple of years, someone's truck falls through the ice on Irondequoit Bay, up here.

That can't be cheap. I saw an episode of Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe where they removed a truck that had fallen through. Pretty interesting how the guy did it.

We've already had a double handful of vehicles through the ice.

A couple of them tried to cross spots clearly marked "Thin Ice - Keep Away". Far as I'm concerned, they got what they deserved for being idiots...big bills for getting their cars out.
