Big Columbia shirt fan here.  I often fish in 90+ degree heat in the summer, and these are the most comfortable for me.  Specifically the PFG button up shirts, not the performance T-shirts. Those are too tight for me.

 

I haven't tried Heybo shirts yet, but they seem to be an up-and-comer worth checking out.

 

I have the Simms Tri-Comp shirt.  It's a little heavier than the Columbia with a tighter fit in the forearms. I think they're great below 85 degrees.

 

Huk doesn't keep me as cool as the Columbia PFG shirts.

Whew,  thought it was just me

When buying Huk there are multiple varieties. The version that had the back of the sleeves and the lower half of the back vented/meshed are the coolest of any shirt I’ve worn in my opinion. I have other Huk shirts (and other brands) that don’t have this meshing and they are substantially hotter.

That’s not how the shirts work. Trust me, if you get a good shirt you will be substantially cooler. It will block the sun and remove the moisture and humidity on your body making you feel much cooler. You will still sweat about as much but you won’t notice it near as much. It’s kind of like being in Utah in 100 degree weather versus being in a Georgia swamp in 100 degree weather.

I wear these $9 long sleeves as an undershirt everyday to work as an electrician. They last a year or so:

They work in the winter to keep you warm and the summer to wick the sweat and help with UV. Without them I sweat through shirts by the time I walk into the job site to where I am working. I suppose you can pay $50 for Under Armour or $60 for Huk. I don't see the point being an undershirt though... Only you will know that you are a baller.

How is the sizing for the Magellan shirts?

 

I usually wear a Large or X-Large depending on the shirt (regular shirts) but with the Columbia PFG long sleeve shirts, I wear a medium.  I also have T-Rex arms.

I wear a XL in the Magellan shirts like I do in everything else.

Magellan shirts are great for the price. Right now they’re BOGO half off (at least I believe they still are). With that being said, I’ve got Columbia shirts as well and they’re definitely lighter feeling but for the $35ish price, I’ll get two of the magellan ones.

Haha, got my dad a 3x huk, he loves it. He says his middle section is earned. I’ve yet to buy any nice ones for me. I’ve never taken the sun seriously at all, but since developing more sun spots I wear these shirts more often. Got some house brand ones from Gander before the rebranded, for $5, and a tackle warehouse one(Hanes) for $20. I wear em all the time now.

I have tried several and my favorite is a long sleeve button up, the Air Strip Shirt from Exofficio.  

I'm really partial to the Anetik brand clothing. I also have assorted Simms and Huk brand long tees as well, and both are nice. 

Another vote for Columbia..... I just like the fit, they keep me cool, and for some reason I'm brand loyal, to a fault sometimes. It usually takes a lot for me to change.
