I’ve been out the last 2 nights seeing whats  in the yard. Mr Skunk has been out there wandering around both nights. 6 deer, 1 rabbit the first night and last night 3 deer. Tons of coon tracks and turkeys during the day. Idk perhaps it has something to do with the corn filled tripod feeder lol

I told my wife that we had the cast of the movie ‘Bambi’ lol

This could be totally superstition but I swear it works. I accidentally catch a lot of stray cats. I think a long time ago I let a cat out of a trap and didn’t have anymore bait but I reset the trap anyway. The next day a skunk was in the trap. So now when I let a cat out of a trap, I never rebait the trap, just reset it. No clue why but by golly there’s almost always a skunk in it the next day. Case in point, got a cat Wednesday and a skunk today in the same spot same trap, no bait on day Wednesday night after the cat release

I’m after a skunk at this house and I catch a different possum almost every night so I tried leaving the traps it without any bait. A big fat raccoon got in my small trap and probably ruined it. “Plum ruirnt “

I have them trapping skunks in town with the hav a heart style pictured and bringing them out the road to our area and turning them loose. Skunks tear the yard up digging for grubs and under the bird feeder every year. Usually trap 6-8 per year and it never stops, however I've come up against a trap shy one that won't enter even with yummy cat food. How do you deal with trap shy skunks?  Dave

I think I’m dealing with one of those right now. I catch everything but skunks at one particular house. My only real strategy is persistence , it will turn itself in eventually. Sometimes a passing nighttime vehicle is the great equalizer

and yes it most certainly never ends. Skunks are beyond relentless when it comes to survival and reproduction.

there’s a particular neighborhood where we’ve caught well over 100 skunks over the years and we aren’t the only gig in town. And then there’s lots of homeowners that trap their own ……… guess what……. There’s still skunks over there. In a different neighborhood down the street I caught 23 over 2 years at the same house in the exact same spot

Thats what my wife is hoping! Gunfire in the middle of the night is not going to have a good impression on the neighbors. Guess I'll hang in there and keep trying......notice I catch a lot of cats but usually only once on each cat. Thanks for response

Definitely try setting the trap without any bait after letting a cat out , it has magical skunk catching power

I'm going to get stubborn now and just keep trying, it was here last night but ignored fresh cat food and the trap. I'll probably catch every neighbors cat and a few coons before its over but I won't stop till I get the skunk!

That’s the spirit!!! Couldn’t hurt to try an Apple or birdseed for bait too but sounds like that skunk isn’t going to be trapped until he/she is good and ready

Apple trees are dropping early this year already and it sits next to a birdfeeder so plenty of seed already. Maybe try some chicken scraps tonight, it's smart about cage traps no doubt.

Mole vs vole………..

mole on top vole on bottom.

mole eats worms and grubs , vole eats roots

A 1/2 acre yard will have 1-4 moles, unlimited voles

moles push the ground up, voles cave it in

moles make hills, voles make holes

moles won’t kill your flowers, voles will

i found both of these laying dead in a yard today and caught another mole in a trap

Voles are definitely in cahoots with chipmunks.  Both serve the devil.  Moles are actually kind of cool.

I have to talk people off the ledge concerning chipmunks on a daily basis. My boss always uses the default line “a little ole chipmunk ain’t never hurt nobody”
