Aaron Martens update....

Featured Replies

Such a great loss to the world. He was definitely one of my favourite bass guys, and seemed like a truly wonderful person. I know it doesn’t likely do a bit of good right now to his family, but I hope one day they can appreciate the love he got from so many other people from all over the world, and the things he taught everyone while he was here ( not just fishing lessons either).

I was totally caught off guard with the news of Aaron's passing. I had not heard or read anything about his condition deteriorating and I thought he was getting better.

Prayers to the family during this terrible time.

We all will miss Aaron and his quiet approach to fishing.

RIP Aaron.

Same here… just had a buddy tell me.  Aaron seemed classy in every way!

we lost a good man

RIP Mr. Martens.  I hope he's in a place where the fish are always biting, knots never slip, line never breaks and you never ding your prop.

I really enjoy watching his videos... you can feel the passion he had for fishing.

RIP Aaron Martens.

Sadly I am making my first post under these awful circumstances.

May God bless your family Aaron and hold you in His arms.

Still can't believe this is real! ?

Cancer is such an ugly part of this beautiful life....

You know I just watched a couple tribute videos to Aaron...Dave Mercers and BTL...and it really hit me that he's gone. Famous people dying usually doesn't affect me as I didn't actually know the person just what I saw on TV...but this one is different. There are guys I like and root for but I can honestly say I was a true Aaron Martens fan. I feel that seeing his passion and love for this thing we do...always trying to figure it out and seeing the same things in myself made me feel a personal connection with him. Never thought I'd say this about somebody I've never met but I'm truly going to miss him. Rest easy furious hog snatcher..you my friend truly are a legend.

Glioblastoma seems to be becoming more and more common.  At one time, it was VERY rare.

This country needs to spend more on cancer research.  Too many people are lost way too soon to that disease.

It's one of the few cancers that really doesn't have a cure rate.  It can be slowed down in some cases, but is virtually always fatal.

We need to find a way to cure it.

R.I.P. to a real one. I always admired his angling career and fishing style immensely.

I DO NOT cry!!! I'm crying. Stop it at the 20 minute mark to save yourself some tears.

I'm getting ready to watch it now...not sure I'm ready for this.

It is a a GREAT video!!! He seems like such a good man. I guess that's what got me the most. I just feel like he was a salt of the earth guy that left this world way too soon.

Thanks to anyone that had anything to do with this tribute.  It was special and so was the man.  I feel so sad for his family and the kids that were left without his guidance through life.  He was a classic, and will always be remembered as a great fisherman, and a good person.  RIP young man!

As they say only the good die young!  I was mostly good until Z lost it, then I seemed to have found my allergies.

These guys aren't actors playing roles, we watch them for years and get to know them a little, or at least get a sense of who they are. Aaron was a genuinely great guy by all accounts. The world was a better place with him in it.

Great video and very touching.  Thanks for sharing.

I watched this last night. Next thing I knew my allergies were going haywire. Very good tribute by Zona, to his friend. @T-Billy is right, we watch these guys, feel like we know them. Zona and Aaron both seem like great guys. RIP Aaron Martens.
