Well alot of colors work, If you want in depth, white for your jack of all trades, translucent for clear water, black for overcast or in low light conditions or even just different color from white. Chartruse for when bass are super aggressive, and chrome for when bass are really keying on baitfish, like fall.

Colors you really only need. White, jack of trades, Translucent ghosty colors (only if you have clear water lakes) and silver, if you have schooling bass. Its pretty much same theory as spook colors or popper colors, also for size it depends on the forage the bass are eating and the biggest you can get away with depending on water clarity.

NOTE, TOP COLOR DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL, ONLY THE BOTTOM OF LURE! (unless its translucent colors, then it will apply to a certain extent)

Color would make very little difference with that lure

All I have is a white. Would it do good in night or low light?

I see. I just want to increase bite chance by a little.

White works fine for night fishing, the lure creates so much racket they will be able to find it.

I like the 110 as well simply because I can throw those things a mile.

This has not been my findings at all. Fishing 3 people in the boat all fishing ploppers, they'll often show a clear preference for one color over the others.

The 90, 75, 110, and 130 are all good sizes for largemouth. I'd probably go with the 130 if I could only have 1 and was only going to target largemouth. Bone, Monkey Butt, and Sooner have been my best colors. I know a lot of people love Loon but it has not been a productive color at all for me.

With the Plopper, my best luck has been with the 90 in Bluegill and Perch...natural forage around here.

I haven’t caught anything with a whopper plopper, on any color. I got five different colors…. to make a fair judgment, they are the “ knock off” of the whopper plopper.

My 110 gets a few more bites over the 130, but I'd go with the 130 if I only chose one size.

I have the 130, 110, and 75.  130 and 75 in Loon and the 110 in Powder.  The 130 has outperformed the other two by a LONG ways.  I love throwing the plopper in my area almost to a fault.  I pretty much have the 130 tied on at all times.  The bites that it has produced for me have been some of the bigger bass ive caught.  Nothing more exciting than seeing a hog blow up on a plopper.

I still haven’t caught one with WP, kind of forgot I had one. It’s not a great lure in this region for some reason

Same here.....but I suspect maybe a small part of the reason for me is that I quit throwing it?

Admittedly, any topwater outside of mats and pads is a big hole in my game.

I tend to quit throwing things when I can’t catch fish with them

I've not noticed a difference in colors (that doesn't mean much tho) but I've also only gotten them to work on shallow rivers. They seem like the surest thing in shallow rivers and shallow river smallies IMHO are just nasty sobs. They could care less if it's pink or brown or whatever. They just attack. I use the Choppo though. Seems to work better for me. Size 90.

I've had some luck with it.

Seems to be good on large flats with rock when they drop the water

MLFer James "Worldwide" Watson won an FLW event on Norris using one

Norris: land of topwater strikes! I’m guessing that because feeding on the bottom requires the fish to dive down 200 feet? Haha
