I was watching a video on YouTube about shakey head and jigs and how using a finesse jig would compliment a good shakey head. The only thing he said in relation to the example of the jig he had for show was that it had a rounded head on it and it was a great shape of head for finesse jigging. I have wanted to get more into the hop and tug of finesse jigs for awhile. I log on to TW and there seems to be 10,000 different kinds of finesse jigs. Can y’all direct me to some good finesse jigs please? It will help a lot with such a wide selection.

I like the 6th Sense Divine Finesse jigs with a zoom twin tail grub. 5/16 is a bit heavy for a “finesse jig” but it’s easy to throw on MH casting rod and is still a smaller profile, ball head, with the “finesse cut” skirt.

 

I pitch them into wood a lot and haven’t had much if any problem with hang ups or losing jigs. 

Two styles of finesse jigs in my mind, the actual finesse jig, think light (~ 1/8 oz) with a small, thin wire hook. Something you’d throw on a spinning rod. 
 

The other is just a regular jig with a smaller hook and a skirt with less strands and/or cut with that lion’s mane. They call those finesse but they have some heavy wire hooks and come in weights that standard jigs do. I’d still throw those on a MH or H. Not finesse to me but I get the point. Don’t wanna argue semantics with anyone
 

If you want a true finesse jig I’d suggest taking a look at the Keitech Mono Spin Jig. They are really small, they pair up nice with a TRD Crawz if you cut just a lil tiny piece off:

There used to be a guy on the NY Bass Forums who made little finesse jigs and sold them.  I think his name was Earthworm.  Does anyone remember him?   He used to make a small (maybe 1/16 ounce) ballhead with a spider/hula style skirt on it and they were great.  I don't believe I have any more of them and wouldn't mind looking into it for my new BFS rig.

I like those Keitech mono spin jigs and I've used their 3/32 ounce heads a LOT for small 2" grubs or swimbait trailers, but I almost wish they offered 1/8 ounce too to accomodate the added bulk of the trailer, which will slow the fall even more.

i like to use "finesse cut skirt" jigs as opposed to "finesse" jigs, Siebert Sniper jig is amazing but im also a fan of the Santone Lures Texas Finesse jig

My favorite is a Strike King Bitsy Bug in black and blue.

I like a War Eagle finesse jig, or a similiar ballhead style.

Love, love, love it...I will also use a black and blue jig with the blue chunk Jr.

Booyah’s baby boo jig. It’s not a finesse jig in the traditional sense, It’s got a 60 strand skirt and a head shape that’s more of a flipping style, but it’s compact with a light wire hook and comes in 3/16 & 5/16. It comes through grass and vegetation really good. What I love most about it is they cost $2.79

What jig or jighead is that?  A good 5/16 is hard to find!

5/16oz poured in a Doit mold with a 4/0 32798 Mustad hook.  Seibert can make you some of these as they are simple. Skirt is 44 strands of standard green pumpkin.

For finesse jigs like the Booyah ones I make these.  They are 3/16oz finesse heads from Fishingskirts.com with fine cut skirt material from the same place. All you need to make them is a $5 skirt tool for the skirts.
