I had to think about this one quite a bit. I’m going to go with a deep diving crankbait. When I say deep I mean over 10’ down.
I know I have fished with them, but I cannot recall ever catching anything on one.

You need to fish in rocks.

I would be glad to trade you some Christmas tree ornaments for any Whopper Ploppers you have.

I occassionally like to check trees for fish. Gotta fish all the cover in sight.

Whopper Plopper, all I seem to catch is grass and the tail quits spinning.

Zara Spook. I've fished one 'til I wore my casting arm out. Many times. I can catch bass with other topwater baits, but nothing on a Spook.

Find yourself an old silent one, if you run your fingers though it and you can feel a slight indentation about mid way that is visually almost imperceptible, (not a sway back), that's the one you want. When they are biting any walking bait, any walking bait will do (sorry Yogi), but when they get selective in calmish water, I'll put it up against any other walking bait, any other walking bait.

A Pop-R, or any popper baits. TBF, I don't fish them much. I caught fish on spook style, WP, wakebaits... but never on a popper. So I got myself a MB Popmax this year?

I don't believe I've ever caught anything on a frog, mostly due to not enough use + wrong time/wrong place use.

I can't remember ever catching anything on a lipless crankbait, probably also due to lack of use.

Both are tried and true lure types, it's just me and the local fish that aren't cooperating on this one. ?

Consistently the same answer......I can't catch fish with Chatterbaits.

Most consistent catcher this year has been swim Jigs and Spinnerbaits.

I'd also say, get yourself a junior one. The big one can be intimidating to fish.

jig, jerkbait, any crankbait deeper than 5 feet, frog, buzzbait, popper and those are just a few of them.

I don't think I ever caught a bass on a spoon.  Lots of pike though.

I bought a Popmax this winter too. So far, the Pop R has outfished it.

For me it's definitely a buzzbait, which is weird because I've had great success with Whopper Ploppers and Choppos. Not pulsing them like a torpedo.... Just a slow retrieve with my rod tip up and just fast enough to turn the prop as it chugs along.

I've never caught a bass on an Alabama Rig.

Mine is the whopper plopper

this.....

As a tournament angler I am probably the only one who will say this proudly: CRANKBAIT. Don’t throw em because usually the guy at the front of the boat is. Not that I don’t know how, just haven’t been in a situation where it was required.

Region plays a factor in this for me, first hardbait bite I ever caught a fish on was a topwater, second was a gluidebait so in a nutshell I have tons of confidence in these baits, but I have never caught a fish on a ned rig, I don't like them and would rather fish a small Texas rig or micro jig

Ive never caught anything on a jitterbug. I got a black one for night fishing even. Nothing.

Alabama rig with fove different swimbaits to choose from hasn't caught anything but leaves. I switch all five swimbaits to a different type and color and nothing. It catches dust now.

Chatterbait   ✔️

Now where is that Whopper Plopper

Standard size or larger spinner bait.  Have caught some on a Beetle Spin.  Nothing on the Whopper Ploppers yet, tried a couple of different sizes.  Probably several others.  As I've gotten older I probably stick with what has worked for me in the past too long when it's not working.  Good thing I enjoy going even on the slow days.

I had several trips where I couldn't buy a bite on the WP. I mean probably an entire year. Then one May morning last year I started off and stuck with it all day. I caught a 7.3 and a 5.75 in the same day, in the same spot hours apart. I also got a 6 and a 4 on it last year. Certainly not a numbers bait unless they're just jumping in the boat.

I've never caught more than one WP fish in one day, but usually its a nicer one.

As for me, I still have never caught a fish on a ned rig or dropshot

I forgot about the ned rig.
Nothing on that

Chatterbait. I don't even get bites. I've tried various colors, trailers, but have only tried 3/8 oz., because that's typically the size spinnerbait I use.

Crankbaits that are mid divers. Can catch them 3 feet and 15 feet below the surface but somehow nothing in the middle.
