Is there an answer?

Why are line manufactures setting a braid pound test at 65 pounds?  Why not 60 or 70 pound test.  What’s the magic about 65?  Have anglers been indoctrinated into a false belief that this test braid is the standard of the industry?  There are two answers to questions that I have to know:  what is the meaning of life and the braid deal.

Like most other things in retailing, it's marketing, half way between 50 and 80. The  lb test labeling of most braids is mostly fiction, they over test by a big margin, call it what you'd like, and maybe cut down on huffing crushed abalone shells a tad...

I'll always prefer this system.

While they put Lb-Test down for US market expectations, Japanese actually report Max breaking strength, which is closer to IFGA Class than Test.

Anyone who has thought it through should see the randomness in talking about Test, and should consider line diameter more important - like the entire rest of the world, who reports reel capacities in Line Diameter, which are Actual reel capacities.

Of course, thinking is harder for some than others.

Oh good, you might know, I gotta replace the boards on my 30x16 deck, how many board feet of 5/4x 6 will I need, and why do I need 10% more and not 1/10th more to account for cutoff and defects?

Because the average homeowner makes mistakes. And yes I can honestly say that as I was a carpenter for 20 plus years.

How do fireworks stores stay open year round?

How do Psychic Readings stores go out of business?

One may never know…

Get the SCUBA gear ready.

Which orange came first, the fruit or the color?

When did time begin?

Where does a thought go when it’s forgotten?

How old do you have to be to die of old age?

So many questions

Ever see the scene in Pulp Fiction where the smack dealer says "crank call, crank call!  Who is this?!"

I get a cold call about once a month on how to move "grey" product. Not sure how my number gets out there, and a guy from up that way said he had a lot of abalone to move, and heard that I knew where to do it, nope, I was born at night, but not last night.

I’ve seen the movie but I guess that scene slipped my mind.
