I hop it like a worm and let it settle on a slack line . I fish from an alum boat often and I can hear a rattling or two tap RES tic-tic as its dropping . I can also hear bass smacking it .

Yup ~ Fishing from my canoe same deal.

Also on the farthest end of the spectrum,

during a week long & Epic RES bite south of the border,

also from an aluminum rig,

our guide was telling us to set the hook . . . .  before we felt the strikes !

Pretty Crazy.

I learned a lot that week.

I think I had a few but never had any luck with those things.

 

I feel like it's the most versatile of the 3 for me anyway. I don't like the RES for burnin' and I don't like the Trap for yo-yoin'. I have no problem using the LV for either of those and probably my favorite lipless technique of "stop n' pop" which I love for open water and covering ground.

I’m with ya! Not the most fun… weightless senkos are my least favorite but also something I will lean on to get bites sometimes. 
 

I fished a Texas rig and jig a lot more this year than in years past though and hope to keep that going

I personally like the Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap because their colors used to correspond to the Color-C-Lector I used to have (Google that one kids). But my local Wal-Mart has CC Spots on clearance normally for around a dollar, and I’ll happily throw a dollar bait into cover that I wouldn’t throw a $4 bait with two treble hooks on it. 

RES is usually a complete dud in the same places RLT is slaying for me. Half my RES don't run true and the half that do don't really produce. Very very overrated bait in my experience. RLT is one of my best baits.

De cualquier manera, teniendo en cuenta mi cadencia de arranque de carrete preferida, que es rápida, uso carretes de velocidad 6.3 - 6.6 para cebos sin labios bastante.

Los carretes de hasta 7.3 inclusive (el más rápido que pesco) tienen su lugar, pero este no es uno de ellos para mí.

Caught an 8 lb 11 oz bass on a 6th sense suspending lipless and for shallow ponds it is now my confidence crank.

Between RES and Trap, gonna have to give it to the RES.  Caught way more fish on them but I need to fish the trap more this winter.

Before yesterday I would have said RES but this little fella caught me about 30 fish. Only bait I used the whole day.

Very little talk of silent models?

I prefer a silent model or a one knocker most of the time . My favorite Red Eye Shad is a silent one but the weight has become loose . It has a very subtle knock . 

I don't believe the silent red eye shad is being made anymore... am I correct?

The Damiki Tremor is a productive lipless that is offered in a silent version .

I haven't tried the Hard Knocker version yet, but the One Knocker is a favorite for me, and has caught my biggest lipless fish to date (9lb 1oz).

The Thunderhawk Sergeant comes in a 1/2 oz silent version, and I like it a lot when they're on that kind of bite. The 3/4 oz rattling version is killer as well.
