Heading to Bass Pro in the morning and ordering a new Bass Boat.

The good - the wife said go for it.

I was planning on getting a boat when I retired in 2020 but my long time fishing partner beat me to it.

Now that the wife has started showing interest in fishing, seems like a good time to get one.

I'll be sure to post pics.

What are you looking for?  There is a MO dealer who usually beats everyone.  Some drive from the coast because of what they can save.

Good decision, life is too short to wait.

Certainly will.

Sales rep said 1 month delivery, I'm fine with that.

Lol, I'm leaning towards a Bass tracker 175 tournament edition but won't know for sure until I get there on Thursday....... wife is the banker.

Good for you!

So we know what @Birdwill be doing Wednesday night. Cooking dinner, cleaning up dishes, washing and folding laundry....might as well throw in a vacuum of the house and mop of the kitchen floor for safe measure.

Changed my mind ?

Bought a Lowe stinger 175 but now have to drive all the way to Indiana to pick it up.

Side by side comparison, Lowe appears superior to Tracker in space and construction, not a single piece of wood in the Lowe.

Good call.  Are Basstrackers still using wood??  I can't believe that.

Tracker salesman said pressure treated plywood in the floors.?

Lowe is all aluminum and the hull is heavier guage in comparison.

Kinda of a no brainer considering similar price point.

EARLY observations on the ST175:

-Boat/trailer marriage is in counseling.   Launching and trailering are a piece of cake.  Loading wasn't.   Needed wheels to be 1/3 to 1/2 out of water.  Wet bunks and bring trailer farther up than you might have thought.

-Rain will get into some storage before you work on sealing them up.  Despite that, my box covers were all pretty tight.  Really tight in cold morning air...like needed a crowbar tight

-Can't say much about speed or ride yet, since I was RPM-limited by break-in process

-Seats and pedestals can be nearly impossible to remove when cold...maybe when warm, also.  I was a bit worked up about it, but once temps came up into 40s, the problems went away.

-Stinger group on FB has a lot of good info

Wet bunks

This has made an enormous difference for me since I started doing it a couple years ago (I have the exact same size boat in a Ranger).  Far less ripped bunk carpet and the boat slides on much easier.  Back that trailer in so the bunks get completely wet before loading!

Congrats on the new rig!

Xpress H17 is another choice to consider in Lowes price range.

That will vary a BUNCH depending on how steep the ramp is.   I recommend paying no attention to the wheels.  Wet the bunks then pull out until 2/3 of the bunks are out of the water.   The boat will load good like this at all but the steepest ramps.  If the ramp is really steep leave 1/2 of the bunks in the water.   With most boats, especially light aluminum ones it will help it go straight up the trailer is you lean over toward the center of the boat to balance it side to side.
