Christie wins the Classic a few years ago, then places near if not dead last in the next tournament. Robert Gee killed em at Toledo Bend placing 4th overall and could seemingly do no wrong, but today he's dead last in 103rd place with one 2-9 fish. Talk about being blasted out of a cannon without a helmet. Fujita did terrible in the Okeechobee Open a few weeks ago placing at 193rd place, then slays them at Toledo. Just a crazy swing of fortune. Anyone who can keep it together over the course of a season and do well in this arena has definitely done something special. Not an easy task. It's hard not to be happy for anyone who can raise a blue trophy. My son (he's 7) likes to win everything. He's struggled to understand how you can still be doing good in a tourney even if you don't come in 1st. I was using Robert Gee last night to explain to him how tough it can be. I might steal some more examples from what you said above -- well said 1 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted March 1, 2024 Super User Posted March 1, 2024 BASS needs to showcase more anglers like Matty Wong, Milliken, etc. who are willing to talk to the camera and more importantly not be so secretive with the baits and way they use them. Many of us are here to learn not just be entertained, Matty does a great job sharing the love. 2 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 1, 2024 Author Global Moderator Posted March 1, 2024 Matty would say Mahalo to you @AlabamaSpothunter! He gave a very cool breakdown to start and then asked the camera man to let him know when they are live. Then the guy says we have been live the whole time 😂 1 Quote
hokiehunter373 Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 If these times are right, it's a dang shame we don't have footage. Holy crap 1 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted March 1, 2024 Super User Posted March 1, 2024 31lbs in 2 MINUTES.......might as well quick at that point 🤣 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted March 1, 2024 Author Global Moderator Posted March 1, 2024 Buddy G! If you had limited amount of live cameras , would you have placed one in buddy’s boat when he started the day in 86th place??? Come on now. Had they done that and he didn’t catch much y’all woild complain why do they have a camera on buddy. It’s fishing , wildly unpredictable Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted March 1, 2024 Super User Posted March 1, 2024 Mckinney's last fish was likely a 4.4 not a 4.5.......right when they took the fish off the scale it flipped back down to 4.4. This is the problem I have with catch weigh release. 106 scales, 106 people operating them. Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted March 1, 2024 Super User Posted March 1, 2024 At least we know how the mega bags of the first day were caught........scoping jerking sticks. Please go shallow fish, please 😁 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted March 1, 2024 Super User Posted March 1, 2024 Buddy was probably in an area without reception, and his observer had to enter his entire catch immediately upon getting it back. You’d be lucky to land/weigh/record a single fish in under a minute. 2 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted March 1, 2024 Super User Posted March 1, 2024 Agree with that ^^^^ Where the heck is Milliken at, surely he got a camera, but Basstrakk says no fish caught. ETA: 1hr 6mins is what it took Buddy to catch 31lbs Quote

Pat Brown Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Nice to see Welcher and Williams doing well. Like both of those guys a lot. This has been a fun one for sure! Will Davis Jr. is looking strong and had a really strong 2023 season. He's my pick for this event at this moment. I feel like he's the kinda guy that could easily seal the deal. Jordan Lee could do it for sure if he's on the right fish. Curious to see what happens with Milliken and Taku after 12-1 pm when the afternoon feed window starts to open up. 1 Quote
