For creature bait I like Berkeley Maxscent or Yum Christie creature. Pitching worm I like a bigger profile… Mann’s  jelly worm, Texas rigged wit as little of weight as I can get away with.

My favorite by far is Zoom's Ultravibe Speed Worm, 1/8 oz bullet weight, 3/0 straight shank round bend hook.

 

I don't flip-n-pitch per se but rather roll cast.

I end up mostly roll casting when I’m in my kayak because I’m so low to the water that pitching is a pain

Never thought a roll cast looked silly or impressive. 
But like you said other than a pitch or especially a flip, it’s the best and only way to maintain a soft/silent entry.

I ordered some last year so probably. I haven’t found a spot in the rotation for them for me.

Texas rigged, bobber stop, 3/16oz bullet weight is what I use most. I do use 1/16 to 3/8oz bullet weights as well for different depths, etc.

I don’t flip but I pitch, skip and roll cast. I’ve have improved my backhand cast also.

 

Anyway, my favorite soft plastic to “flip” would be a 5” senko, with a 3/0 Gamakatsu ewg super line hook rigged weightless , 30lb braid and a mh baitcaster. I use a 6” a lot too. A very close second would have to be a 4” pit bass with a 4/0 ewg super line hook, 1/8oz bullet weight, same rod/line as the senko.

The Zman Goat is pretty nice because it can double as a topwater or swimming bait when rigged on a light weight (<3/8oz). I like an 1/8oz unless I know I’m punching, in which case I go heavier. The elaztech holds up to wear from vegetation.

 

Recently, I’ve been playing around with the Big Bite Baits Yomama, and it does pretty well, too. I like it a lot.
