Tell me you don’t watch BASS without telling me you don’t watch BASS

I mean it's really no different than any other derby this year........rookies staring at screens, veterans fishing history praying they can compete.  

 

Lot of screen watchers this derby, but a fair number of non FFS as well.    

 

The leaderboard reflects how weird this derby this starting.....I mean Clifford Pirch in the top 10, Crews and Prince in 1st and 2nd.    I expect this leaderboard to shift around big time sans Crews.....dropping 19+ on day 1 will ensure he stays up there.  

So you found 2 guys out of 102 that aren’t watching their screen 😉

Nah I watched live for 10 minutes and that’s not “all” they do

TN river is indeed weird 

Is staring at a screen any different than just staring at the water?

Looks a little warm.  92 today, 94 tomorrow, 95 Saturday, and 97 on Sunday.  Yikes

And that’s northern Alabama ……..

 I’m guessing that’s why some guys are fishing shade lines and under lily pads. 
 

This part of the river looks so much better than our part 😂 

The graphic they just showed of all of the places a fish has been caught blows my mind.  Where are they biting?  Pretty much everywhere.

Its a lovely 74 here today.  Poor scheduling. 

I been on a metal roof all morning, but for contrast I get to go work on an ice machine this afternoon

I think I said "could be a little warm in June in Alabama" when the schedule came out last year.

One of the few derbies I've seen on Wheeler where the Decatur Flats weren't a player.....at least as of now.  

 

It was a huge player last year at the Open.   

 

ETA:  It's hot here, but June is nothing compared to July and August.

The guy winning doesn’t have livescope on his boat?! Impossible 

7lb 9oz fish is an amazing fish for June on Wheeler.    Turning into a great derby already. 

I’ve fished south Alabama in June every year for 25 yrs or so except this year. We catch nice LM and spots in shallow water over 90 degrees every time, they still have to eat

Matty Wong was fishing something earlier where he pressed the thumb bar release about 30-40 times during a single cast 

 

maybe a heavy hair jig? Couldn’t see the bait but you could hear the clicks
