Watching Steven Kennedy shake after catching a huge Spot on a swimbait is what it's all about.   Whole wolfpack of big Spots followed the fish in.   Awesome camera work.

There was nothing boring about watching a 5lb 12oz Spot caught in the last 1.5hrs on the final day to win an Elite Series event imo.     Wasn't boring watching one of the Elite Series most l

Steve Kennedy is a likable guy and fun to watch.  He should have his own TV show.   He could be the next Bill Dance if it wasn’t for his horribly ugly cap.  😂

Can't make everybody happy, but I can say this fan loved every minute of this derby!

So happy for Taku!

Wasn't boring watching one of the Elite Series most liked anglers win a trophy

Wasn't boring watching Steve Kennedy do his thing with a big glide on day 2

First two days were dominated by non FFS techniques.    Only when the shallow bite died the last two days did the scope become the winning technique.

It was worth watching just to see Taku's baits, and powders.   If I had to pick I'd choose traditional Bass fishing, but sadly I don't have a pick.  I can either accept the current state of professional Bass fishing with regards to FFS or move along.   The tech isn't going anywhere, there is no putting that genie back in the bottle.

I do not like FFS but, I am confused at how watching them fish that way is more boring than watching them fish traditionally. I like seeing the catch but, watching anyone fish is kind of boring.

No I missed that one.

It was old school fishin, FFS doesn’t help much on TN river because of all the “trash fish” and lack of suspended bass

Mostly just dragging worms around on bottom, chatterbait, deep cranking, jigging spoons

it seems the leader of the anti FFS movement also conveniently missed it , that or anti content sells a lot better than positive content

I just missed it because I was outta town…yeah I should probably lay off this topic. I shouldn’t intentionally be negative. No good for anyone me included.

@Pogues2300, we all like what we like, no worries. St. John’s river tournament also had a lot of old school elements even tho Johnston blew it away. The recency bias plays heavily into the offseason discussion as well because they always end on clear deep smallmouth water

Wether anyone agrees with it or not it’s legal as of now. I can’t complain about them using it no matter what I think about it. They all have the option to drop another 40k into there boats to deck it out. Just like I have the option to not use it.

Haha yep, prepare for it in the next 2 events.  100% video game fishing with a vertical presenation on offshore structure.

It can be avoided by scheduling these a different time of year though.  That's just how they have to fish in midsummer on a big clear smallmouth lake.

I'm with ya. I don't begrudge anyone for using it. I rode the fence for awhile, and came very close to pulling the trigger twice, but in the end I decided that's just not how I want to fish.

@T-Billy I personally hate it. Again it’s legal so have at it. Lots of things in life that way no reason to complain. It’s just fishing for me.
