Scott Martin dq'd again? Martin Withdraws From Elite Series

Featured Replies

IF true, he's clearly shown a pattern here and BASS needs to take significant action. Last time, I jumped to conclusions and his support too quickly, so I'll withhold final judgment until we find out more Saturday with the poly. I'm just hoping BASS will be a bit more transparent this time around.

If the only way to enforce a rule is with a polygraph test, than the rule should not be be a rule.  Either find a way to write the no information rules that allow for fair enforcement, or don't have t

I think the fact these guys make as much $ or more on endorsements/sponsorships/image/reputation as they do on actual tournaments - that these discussions are all behind the scenes and agreements are made on how it will be released to the public. Stuff will leak out, but likely never the whole true story.

I watched a pretty good video from B-Lat the other day about the info rules and all the hubbub over the FFS debate.

I’m not familiar with it. But in the one video I watched he asked me to subscribe 3 times.

Im not sure. All I know is BASS said they had the video but would not be releasing it. My understanding was if Scott self reported they would keep the video private. My guess is whoever helped him would look bad as well and didn't want that attention. So it's probably someone famous like another pro or possibly YouTuber ect. Otherwise I cant see why they would keep the video private.Supposedly some other pros had seen the video as well.

Apparently the whole self reporting was a bogus story. He self reported and still practiced?

It wasn't exactly bogus. He practiced then found out he was busted so he self reported to try and save face. Originally he said he overheard a conversation unintentionally. The true story appears to be that he actually asked for the information.Well as with most things in this day and age the truth started coming out. Now he and Bass both look foolish. Bass for promoting his bs self report and Scott for the whole situation he created.

That’s even worse. But there is also nothing BASS can do that won’t be criticized.

On this one when it all shakes out they need to go open Kimono.

I dont think this is necessarily drama. This is an angler and a pretty well known one at that braking the rules. Drama to me is more like the brawl at the restaurant, Ike yelling at dogs, guys arguing about coming in on each other/spot stealing. Things like that.

Not defending Scott here, but there were no rules against info sharing back whenever Roland was fishing at the top level.

From what multiple current elite anglers have said (Feider and Hackney) on Mercer's podcast recently, Scott is widely known on tour (for years) for being a guy who gathers information that he shouldn't be. Neither of those guys were overly shy about their opinion of Scott and his ways.

Haha Candy Randy. 😂🤣

Here in these parts we call him Uncle Randy. You know like that crazy conspiracy theorist uncle everybody has that shows up drunk to every family gathering and tells you that if your mom hadn't met your father first he'd be your dad.

I call Randy Karen because he’s a constantly complaining, negative Karen.

I saw another video from a guy that fished the opens that said Scott Blatantly broke the no info rule to qualify to fish the elites? And how others did, and in the opens it’s not really enforced?? He says his buddy fished the lake for 3 weeks straight before one of the events?
I’ll try to find it…

I heard that another guy talked to another guy that said he saw somebody say that.....

Geeze.  Is this really the best use of your time guys?  The gossip and rumor train is crazy-stupid full of commentary, accusations, and opinions.  Everyone wants a click.  <---

Don't you have some lures to buy?  :)

I really don't see the issue. What other major sport stops you from using scouting reports?

Just like Harbaugh, Scott needs to learn how to use a fall guy.

So I was listening to this today but admittedly I didn't listen to all of it. But Gerald Swindle called out Scott Martin pretty hard here basically saying he didn't self report.

Start at around the 6:30 mark.

Scott like Roland has a hard time shutting up!

Scott like Roland has a habit of looking for a camera or microphone.

I hope it’s not too serious. I follow him and Shaw Grigsby.

Seems like a double standard if they allow FFS.

Looks like the proof is in the pudding. It's a d**n shame to see a an angler like Martin go out a cheater but he made the choices.
