Bass Pro The Egg Wake

Featured Replies

Lost my last egg. My local Cabelas did not have these to replace. If anyone comes across these in the future in store and is willing to do me a solid, please pick them up for me. I'm good for it and will pay for everything with interest. I'd be interested in ghost shad and bone colors especially.  Chartreuse sexy shad too.

One of my fav Wakebaits. Just caught 7-8 fish on one Sunday. I found some like you in the new packaging at the Bass Pro in Mobile, AL back in March. Grabbed 3 of em. I got a reserve of about 15 of them in both sizes in the old stockpile…… buried somewhere in all my excess tackle in the garage. 😂

Have you checked the Pyramid or Sycamore View stores yet?

35! No wonder I can't find any. 🤣

Yes, I bought 6 more from the Pyramid after I posted this. And thinking about hitting either the Pyramid or Sycamore View for a few more soon. 😂

Dang it. I need to get me a couple of these!

There are (or were) 2 of the craw pattern at my BPS yesterday. Almost bought them, but decided not to.

So what’s the deal with these? Why are they so hard to find?

The Egg is/was just a really good wakebait, at a really good price.

In the grand, aggravating tradition of Bass Pro…..once they hit it out of the park on a bait, they immediately quit making it.

Oh, crap. I thought they were just sold out due to popularity. I really love wakebaits so I really wanted to try these.

I guess I won’t be able to get any now. 😔

You never know if they’ll come back or when. It’s part of the fun of BPS.

In the mean time try a small mouse style wakebait for similar fun!  😉😉😉🐁 🐁🐁

My son wrecks them on the tiny one made by CL8 baits.  It’s essentially an egg shape with a lip and a sharp hook!

He’s only got one - not 40 - but they’re readily available and get bit and he’s still tossing it and catching fish with it - no signs of needing 39 more any time soon.

Also the old jitterbug gets a lot of bites.

strike king makes some awesome wake baits also.

I’m sure BPS will reissue the egg eventually.

Last I checked they were only available for in store purchase, no longer on line.  This past spring I paid $4.99, just got ahold of 2 more for $5.99 but they were priced at $7.99.  Academy looks to have a slightly smaller version of the same lure, on line.

I had to look this up & now it has me intrigued. There’s a video on their website of this lil mouse lure. It looks pretty cool with nice action.

No joke, this website & The Bait Monkey are very detrimental to my wallet! 😂

The regular price for years was $4.99 each.  I can recall during their annual Spring Sale in March at least twice they were $3.99 each instead.

When they were phased out, I found a few in a bargain bin that were $2.99 each.

I saw a couple on eBay from $13.99 to $20.00!

That CL8 Mouse is a great bait. It has a deep single knock rattle and casts like a bullet. All his baits are great but the 7.5 oz Possum needs more of a commitment than the 3/4 oz Mouse. It’s my favorite rat bait.

When I was at the Classic this year, the Bass Pro booth had these and bulk packs of the Mann's Jelly Worms in their Bargain Bins.  I was an idiot for passing on both!
