Finesse squirted jigs

Featured Replies

What’s everyone’s favorite finesse squirted jig and trailer options for river smallmouth?

I have used missle jigs for quite a while with the smallest paca craw trailer (2” I think) and done real well especially when the crawdads hatch.

I bought some HH custom bait jigs last summer. I threw them in my bag and forgot about them until yesterday. My last missle jig’s squirt was in poor shape and remembered the HH jigs and tied it one. I’m really liking this guy’s jigs plus he makes a really nice 1/8 buzzbait and 1/4 spinnerbait

squirt ?  skirt.

Jewel Pee Wee.  I carry 4 colors in 3 sizes.

@Siebert Outdoors Sniper, Mini or Lil Man jig. You won’t find better components or build quality.

With that said, I lose A LOT of jigs in my rocky snaggy river so my skirted finesse jig of choice is a Strike King Bitsy Bug jig. I can get them for less than $2 at Walmart. Make sure you sharpen the hook.

For trailers I use a Strike King Baby Rage Craw (shortened by 2 segments) or if I want more bulk I’ll use a Strike King Baby Menace grub.

I have a full box of siebert outdoors jigs. I really like the smaller jigs with the finesse cut skirt for trailers , I mix it up with a small craw, beaver, or double tailed grub depending on how much action I want.

I used a homemade hand tied hair jig, black & blue most of the time.

I have been experimenting this season with 1/8 oz Keitech jig with a rage baby craw for a trailer.

I use a few of my own that I tie but lately my favorite has been an 1/8oz Ned Jig. It's caught me a lot of fish and some really nice ones.
