What are your 2026 fishing goals?

Featured Replies

Fish as much as I can, and bring my 6‑year‑old son along—hopefully he’ll actually fish this time instead of sprinting off to the park. I’m still chasing a few of those big mama fish I spotted at that lake two years ago

  • Fishing goals for this upcoming season. Pretty much the same as they have been for the past several. Be safe. Stay committed to keeping my mind, body & spirit strong so I can be on

  • Minnesota is lifting the fully closed bass season next spring.  So I am hoping to begin legally targeting bass before the usual mid May opener.  Mother Nature needs to cooperate for that to happen.

  • My goal for 26 is to help my 86 year fishing bud catch a DD LM. I'm gonna drive him to every private pond I have access to. The man fished shiners in Florida for decades and was a fishing guide for ma

to just go and not worry about how many or how big............just to go........and keep my sanity.

I think next year, instead of going fishing once a week, I'll go twice a week.

To not miss the spring and fall fishing season.. I somehow always miss it. Find myself on the water melting or freezing every year.

My 2026 goal is the same as every year in past 15 years and it is to catch a double digit LMB ❣️

I guess I already achieved mine with a recent purchase of a kayak. I sold my boat last year with this in mind to be able to fish places I cannot get to with a boat. Looking forward to using it chasing river smallies this year, LM too of course!

It would be nice to meet some fellow kayak anglers to fish with who are into fishing as much as I am though. Maybe that should be my new goal.

Like everyone here, I'd like to fish more, catch more fish, and catch bigger fish.

I'd also like to use more of the tackle I have, and buy less. I know how that will go. 🤣🐒

A long term goal that I've been working toward is to catch a fish in every navigable waterway in my county. There are two rivers, and eleven navigable creeks. There are three creeks that I have never fished. Now that I have a kayak I have better access to those creeks. I would like to complete that goal this year.

Another thing I hope to do this year is fish with @Smirak. We talked about it last year, but it didn't work out. I hope it will this year. I need him to give me some kayak fishing lessons.

Cool goal!

Me too.

Same as every year... fish more! Last year I actually pulled it off with 13 days total offshore Tuna fishing and it paid off big time with personal bests. This year I hope to bump the Bass numbers up. Get back to those 30-40+ trips a year.

I’m going to do some searching with my side scan this year and see what I can find.

2nd part of the plan is do some more finesse fishing…drop shot, Neko.

Currently fish a lot of hair jigs on the river along with a whacky rig.

Keep picking up new techniques and be more proficient at them. This year I will focus on med sized swimbaits & drop shot.

Also hoping to catch a 7+ largie or 5+ smallie.
