Bill Dance’s dancing eel.

You can fish a t-rigged Snag Proof Zoo Wake through cover, it gives a similar profile to the dancin' eel but weedless.

Old time Bomber.  Photo is of some of the first fish I caught with it back in the 1970's. Still works today crankin' standing timber. I have 3 left.

the 5" worm.

learned it as a young person on a lake in Mexico.. total strangers on that trip gave us hooks, sinkers, and worms and some instructions. never fished a worm before then. that tick of a bite became an obsession.

I wish they still make that old school motor oil color.

Black 8" Mann's Jellyworm. I was shocked to actually see some in BPS last week, hadn't seen them in a store in forever.

Hard baits, it would be either the old Wiggle Warts, or a not as old timey but still long DC'd Zell Pop. I've lost and found this bait twice and it has just been a fish catching machine for me throughout it's lifetime.

If “black” is Blackberry, I’m with you. They last awhile, which is a plus.

One and the same.

Over the years, the three "vintage" lures (in production for 40-50 years) that have been the most productive for me are the Rapala shad Rap, the smallest size Rebel Pop-R, and a 4" worm made by Slider. I have other vintage lures that have produced very well for me too (black jitterbug at night, Rapala floating minnow, Bomber model A, and a beetle spin), but the first three I mentioned are more consistent producers.

I’ve used those slider heads for finesse worms since learning about them in the early 90’s.

Dancing Eel guy needs to try the old Cackle Buzz.

Bagley DB3’s are my “secret” weapon.

After reading the above posts it occurred to me that I fish a lot of old lures. Maybe 30 to 40 percent of what I fish would be considered old like the Rapala, Mepps and Heddon products.

But if I had to pick just one old lure it would be a 3 inch grub or twister tail. It just works for me.

Lotta good ones mentioned. For me, the Mr Twister. Was great to see Hank Cherry dust it off at Guntersville.
