I was able to sneak out the other night after getting the kids to sleep and ran into a new PB! 6lbs 3oz at a little lake by my house. I found an offshore weedline in about 10ft of water on my portable

Kinda rough weather in northern IL today but I've been on this 3-day weather pattern the last couple weeks (fishing the 3rd day of warm day/warmish night trend) and today is the target day. I decided

I’ve been doing pretty good the last few weeks on bigger wake baits up shallow and on outside weedlines after 7pm.

I managed to get out for a quick overnight session last night; threw the big Spro Rat 50 wakebait and caught my PB rat fish at 4.91lbs. She ate it in about a foot of water at 12:20a, right at moonset. She had some shoulders on her!

Fished Island Lake this morning with my son. 2 dozen bass and 1 bullhead in 5 hours. Biggest went 3lbs. Caught the bullhead and one bass on wacky worms and the rest of the bass were caught on craws.

Live craws or t-rigged?  I got to stop at a local pond the other night right at moonrise and got a few on a Spook, one keeper.  Water was slick calm so I wasn't sure if the Spook was gonna be too noisy, but they were eating.

I was using Rage Craws on a 3/8oz swing head jig. My son switched to craws after I caught my 3rd fish. Didn't pay attention to what brand or how his was rigged.

Let me add this is the first time I've rigged them with craws. I bought the swing head's for creature baits. I was throwing a creature bait when we started. The cold front(s) that came thru this week made me think of downsizing. The smaller profile worked.

Another late-night stop at the local neighborhood pond produced a few fish, two keepers.  I'm loving the spook, even on these calm nights--heaviest fish of the trip came on the ned rig though, 16.25" and 2.29lbs.  I just started fishing it a few weeks ago and it definitely gets bit.

Good evening gentlemen, finally got some free time?. Hit the local retention pond, here’s the results?.        Bass weren’t too cooperative, but the bluegill were in a mood. Here’s a couple of the better ones.

Been going out during the middle of the day to see if I can put a daytime pattern together, well the pattern that emerged is not the one I expected, I've been catching northern pike up in shallow vegetation throwing 7" senkos and 4.8 keitechs on weedless flashy swimmer hooks. Summer pike really put up a dog of a fight, a 31 incher I caught recently was one of the hardest pulling fish I've encountered in years, it weighed in just over 6 lbs, boy was she fired up and angry!

Got out this morning in between the storms we're having up north; went to my little pond, haven't thrown the rat at this spot because I figured it's too big and obnoxious for this tiny body of water.  Decided to send it anyway because the conditions are so perfect for everything imo.  Fished the whole pond and finally got this one to eat on my last cast in the SE corner (the non-windblown side).  Went 18.25" and 2.7lbs.

Nice job man, so satisfying catching em on your own hard work garage-builds.

I got out to this tiny industrial pond at sunset the other day about a half-hour before those storms rolled in and caught a monster on the big Spro Rat. She went 20" and 4.47lbs, had the biggest gut I've seen up close on a fish. This bait has been getting CHEWED all summer, my new favorite topwater ever.
