MASSIVE weight loss

I am 31 years old and I have struggled with my weight most of my life. Eating became a compulsive action, and coupled with an inactive lifestyle, led to me weighing in at over 350 pounds. At the start of this year, I decided to commit to a lifestyle change that resulted in a transformation that I did not imagine was possible.

BEFORE

I joined a gym in January and got to work. I started slow by lifting and walking 5 days a week. I gradually increased the intensity over the next few months and was losing between 8-10lbs a month. Starting in June, I doubled the amount of cardio, went to gym 7x a week, and really locked down the diet. I lost 20 lbs a month during June through October.

As of today, I am half of my starting weight with a total loss of 175 lbs and I feel AWESOME!!!!!!! :D I encourage any of you that need to shed the pounds that it can be done. You are capable. If my fat @55 can lose it, you can too.

WOW!  That's just....wow.  Congratulations.

I have a close friend that's 350lbs+ and is now having heart issues at age 47.  I also had a very dear friend of mine pass away on December 23, 2005 at the age of 55 from a massive heart attack caused by his weight (350lbs+).

So whether you know it or not, but your actions just saved your life!

You probably saved yourself TONS of trouble with your health. That's awesome.

I'm glad when I see someone do it the right way as opposed to drugs or surgery. Great job taking control of your life!

You have accomplished something that the majority of overweight people cannot or will not ever do.  You also have the confidence now to know you can do anything you set your mind to do.  Reach for the moon and grab it.

Definately congratulations!

Im 15 5'10" and 185. I think I could lose 20 lbs. I go to the gym 4 days a week. Mostly cardio with a little bit of strength. I hope I get awesome results like you! I used to be chunky, and I mean chunky.

Thank you all for your kind words. It has been an awesome journey to say the least. The only advice I can give to anyone that is looking to lose weight is that there are no secrets and no shortcuts. It just takes time, sweat, pain and hunger....and lots of it!

Congrats! This is awsome

Outstanding.

Congrats on a job well done.

I am going back on the wagon to lose 30 pounds and a lot of belly fat.

Lost 32 pounds back in 08 but have put it back on.

You are an inspiration to everyone who needs to shed a few pounds.

Happy New Year!!!  :)
