Who's fishing Pink??

Featured Replies

My girlfriend uses a pink (bubble gum, merthiolate, etc) version of just about everything she throws at the fish.  Trick sticks, finesse worms, crankbaits, poppers, etc.  She never has any problem putting fish in the boat around here.

I personally like greens and browns for almost any occasion.  I have only tried the trick sticks in merthiolate a few times and while they do catch fish, I'm not as confident in the color.

I don't have a single pink bait in my (rather large) tackle collection -except for my steelheqd stuff.

I...just...can't...do it!!!

I've even stopped carrying chartreuse, and actually have scraped the orange off the bellies of my cranks, replacing it with a nice NATURAL pearl! Although my waters are relatively clear, it's more than ...practical. I just seem to have less respect for a fish that will hit something painted up like a clown LOL. ;D

Give me earth tones, and realistic baitfish colors, whether the fish want 'em or not dammit! >:D

What's the problem with being painted up like a clown?

Something must eat these.

I have a friend named Jason who will not throw a spinnerbait unless it has a pink face or head on it. He says when a shad is about to die it's face turns pink? I don't know how true this is, but any time we are throwing spinnerbaits he does seem to catch more than me.

Tom, ya got me. I have no defense. I can make arguments for clown lures and recognize they work. But..I...just ...can't do it!

Someday I'll lighten up and say What they hey...

For now, I'm feedin' 'em a PROPER diet of earth tones.

My daughter bought me some pink super flukes a couple of years ago because she thought they were pretty. I guess I'll have to dig them out and give them a try.

I went fishing with a friend the other day.  For about 2 hours we got skunked.  We tried little georges, watermellon, green pumpkin, and black senkos, crank baits, you name it and nothing.  My friend had some pink...ahem.. I mean bubble gum trick worms.  We figgured what the heck and tried them and what do you know...we started pulling fish in the boat.  It was amazing.  I plan on getting a package of ...BUBBLE GUM worms this weekend for my tackle box.

I have some of the Bubble Gum colored floating worms and gave them a very brief try with no success and guess its time to pull them back out and give them more time in the water.

Real men don't use PINK, they use Fuchsia !

Oh wait...that's worse!

pink bubblegum what ever works great at pre spawn and spawn, out west some take there spinner baits one blade off and put on a orange one works great when baits are shallow they are diffeant colorls but after a certin depth they are all black no sun

only pink in my tackle box is a couple rattle traps that boaters world sold me for a buck and some change. my fiances cousin seen me pull out the pink and chrome trap (yes i said it) and was almost in tears. but it did catch fish and thats what matters.

I have some pink Zoom flukes that I have fished. As stated before in this thread, I think color is more of a confidence thing the majority of the time. The only color factor I feel for the most part is dark vs. light/flashy, depending on the conditions.

My Hot Pink X-Rap has put more smallies in my boat, than all my other X-Raps put together.

People can say what they want about color............I say there are times when color makes a difference PERIOD.

Al Lindner says "Smallies love pink", and what Al Lindner says is Gospel.

Guess we can't call smallies sissies, can we. Aggressive, competitive...sounds like a lot of he-men I've known. Maybe pink is just misunderstood -not the forte of most he-men I suppose.

OK...who's gonna be the first to get a pink fishing hat?

Pink is nothing more than Pale Red (one part red <> several parts white).

Pink is a very popular hue among anglers fishing for smallmouth bass, walleyes and crappies (esp. the latter).

Over the years, I've found that bass hit Zoom flukes in every color, regardless of lighting conditions.

I finally wised up and decided to choose a color that benefits angler visibility and to heck with the bass.

From that day forth, I use nothing but "bubblegum" super flukes

Paul, I may have been the first member to purchase a PINK FISHING HAT.

Oh...I don't wear the hat though, because I bought it for my wife

Lately, she's been outfishing me on a regular basis, and flatly refuses to part with that hat ::D ;D

I just unedited your pic Roger! (Did you know there's software out there that can do that??)

I thought so! It's the hat isn't it. We knew you had a trick up your sleeve. You use your wife's lucky hat. Does she know??

Ahhh...Roger and I go way back. Did you know the original Slider Heads were made of stone? True.
