She Warmed Me Up!

Featured Replies

I pitched a 1oz jig n Rage Craw tight to the deep edge of some heavy brush and the line blitzed left and toward me so fast that I couldn't catch up regardless of how fast I reeled the slack or lifted my 7'11" rod... As she headed under the back of the boat, I snatched at her on a slack line and missed her totally, OUCH!

I fished the same brush again and the surrounding area meticulously for several minutes without a sniff and I told my buddy Matt that I had the feeling she was a giant because the area we were fishing could hold several good fish, or one GREAT fish! I eased to another likely area which was approximately 100 yrds away and we hooked up with several nice ones but not exactly what I was targeting. An hour had passed since my mishap and I couldn't stand it any longer so I headed back toward her lair. I was approximately 30 yrds from the original mark and I told Matt that we could pick her up at any piece of brush between where we were presently and the original spot... On my next pitch, a hookset was in order causing a WAR to erupt in front of the boat! She ripped to the right heading toward her original location then tore across the surface while breaking limbs and brush along her way... When she finally turned toward me from the pressure, she made one last power surge to the right before waving the white flag... I held her for a moment as we snapped a photo then she swam away wagging her Big Pretty Tail at me ;) Now that's the kind of Valentine present I was looking for, LOL.

Hope yall are getting on the water a little too!

Yea he looks good in black. Stealthy.

There she is! A great fish as usual

Nothing like a big ol gal to keep you warm on Valentines day... :)

Awesome fish and picture, but I'm more interested in these "several nice ones but not the ones you were tageting". I'm envisioning you and Matt catching 8 & 9 pounders left and right all the while saying "hmmm, these are nice but not the ones I'm looking for". HAHA.

Wow Big O! Nice fish!

Now come on up to Guntersville this April and put a whoopin on some of those Bama big girls!

More Pounce to the Ounce, as I like to say.
