  1. I am slowly building my supply of Tungsten weights. I love them. The feel that I get with them is unbelievable.
  2. When your wife wakes up in the morning to find you gone, then checks the weather report to see where you are. When your boat is always hooked to your tow vehicle because you have another car just for driving to work and around town. When your garage resembles a tackle shop. When the only thing people ever say to you is "How's the fishing?".
  3. Welcome. To start be sure to read all of this. It's the best way to jump start your bass fishing. http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html
  4. Nothing can beat the experiences you will have out on the water. So go out and try it. There is nothing set in stone when it comes to how to fish a particular lure or rig. Try it and see. As for the Drop Shot. You will find that many of the top pros in fishing have gone from using a C-rig to a Drop Shot. They cast is long distances and work it in the shallowest of water. It has become a key rig of many of them. So don't be afraid to try it from the bank.
  5. Cut a small piece off of a noodle float and wrap the line around that and stick the hook in. I use Carolina Keepers and that eliminates the need for leaders.
  6. There are so many good products out there from so many companies that it wouldn't help you a bit by becoming loyal to just one company.
  7. It is very hard but all I can say is practice. Try to get as much velocity as you can on your lure.
  8. Now that's not a common problem. Have you tried getting the S cleaned?
  9. Noise from the Premier is a very common problem. I would contact the store you bought it from and see if they will help you out. Or contact Abu and ask them. If you can't get any help just take it back and exchange it for a STX.
  10. Welcome to the family.
  11. Welcome to the right place. Please check out our beginners section in our library of articles. Just look up at the top of the page and you will see the Fishing Articles section.
  12. If it's a deep spool spinning reel then yes as you have less and less line on your spool the casting distance will decrease due to the added friction on the lip of the spool.
  13. These are all good question that should be answered. I have a few. Where do you live now? How old are you? How many kids are we talking about? Have you tried some local business?
  14. Your in Georgia and you haven't attempted a call to Randall so you can try your skills on Varner. I can't believe it. Great fish though.
  15. That looks great. I wonder if you could find out where Mattlures gets his eyes. His look just like bluegill eyes.
  16. I use JJ's Magic most of the time for my soft plastics. I dip the whole thing in clear first and if I need any color I will then dip the tail in chartreuse. Then when I need some color added to a white fluke I use Blue. Merthiolate added to a white trick worm or frog is the best bubblegum color you will ever see. I am a believer that JJ's will get you more bites out of a school of fish. I credit my two 30+ fish days on the Guntersville Trip to JJ's.
  17. We think it's a problem with one of the Google adds. Every time this particular add starts running the site hits the skids. We are working on it.
  18. If you want your old profile back just let me know and I can set you up with a temporary password.
  19. No flouro--- because it sinks. You don't want a sinking line when fishing topwater.
  20. I remember you. You used to be BassSnatcher and then changed your name to Strike King. Welcome Back :-?
  21. Don't worry bud, we have a 20year plan.
  22. What can be learned from that one photo of the guy and the kid holding the fish. They say it was taken in front of the Post Office in Helena, GA. So I look up the Post office address and come up with 612 Forsyth Ave. I google earth it and check it on my GPS Program and I find out that Forsyth Ave runs from SW to NE and the Post Office is located on the SE side of the road. So I look back at the photo and according to the length and direction of the shadows in the picture the picture was taken early in the morning. Between 7 and 8:30am. Sunrise was a 5:26am. According to the ESPN story it takes them almost 1 hour to drive to Montgomery Lake. According to a story in the Augusta Chronicle he went fishing because the fields were too wet to plow. So he called his fishing partner, Jack Page, and ask him to come and pick him up so they could go fishing. They drove 45min to the lake, fished for a little while, caught the monster fish, packed up the truck and drove 1 hour to the Helena Post Office that didn't open until 10am. (according to county records) And according to the picture all this happened before 8:30am. It would be a very slim chance that the fish in the photo is the same fish that George caught. This is just my observation with a little research but it still doesn't have me convinced.
  23. This photo was found in the attic of a distant relative of George's so they tried to say it was of George's fish. But that's not George holding the fish and they don't know who the kid is. So there is still no proof that would hold up.
  24. Bobby, we can't thank you enough for your kindness to us. Thanks for all you do for us.
