the problem is theres not a lot of phones for the kids over there. iraq is getting better but a phone in afghanistan, (at least a year ago) that could be used to call the states, was next to impossible to find.

i like the Skeet rods. IMO a much better rod than the Mojo. if you want to spend that whole $150 a Lowrider is a good bet.

on the sideplate opposite the crank handle there might button that can be pushed in so the sideplate can rotate up. give that a shot. after the sideplate rotates up the spool will slide out and youll see the last screw holding the crank sideplate on.

i like the Fuego very much. the reel will handle a wide range of techniques. i am using mine for lipless cranks.

i used to make fun of my brother years ago for putting 6" curly tail worms lead heads instead of re-tying a weight and a worm hook. little did we know.

So I suppose you limit yourself to magnum cartridges and wide open broadside shots of under 100 yds, off a benchrest? Also, dropping one in it's tracks, doesn't always mean killing it instantly. Real hunters should know their effective range and try to take ethical shots, period. No one can gaurantee a perfect shot, even within range in good conditions. FWIW, I've seen a much higher percentage of rifle hunters take shots out of range thinking they "might be able to hit it" than the bow or muzzle loader crowds. i looked back over the post and dont recall saying that. my stated opinion was on "primitive firearms". if you want to shoot a lead ball and use a charge you assume is accurate be my guest.

X2 the Mossberg 500 is a very solid gun with a lot of options.

IMO $150 is way too much to spend on a crankbait rod. you dont need the "feel" you willl need while fishing with plastics. i like the Falcon Original and the Wright and McGill rods for the money. Shimano Clarus Rod 7' Medium MF Taper looks like a good fit as well.
