like i said, ive fished them a ton......in the store..........lol. let me ask you, what brought you to buy a Carrot Stix or any other rod/reel? the feedback on this forum is probably 100% responsible for me not buying some gear and 60% responsible for the current gear i have. i dont have to use them on the water, some boys i respect a ton did that for me. thanks guys!!!!

its a typical kansas lake. good one week, crappy the next. only caught around 10 fish tonight. i think its a good lake if you have a boat. the place is full of these:

you know i dont want to debate the best waters. none of those lake listed are in this area. i can tell you that wolfe creek blows goats right now. that takes nothing away from the great bass lake that it can be much the same as leavenworth. good luck to ppl fishing in this area. anyone whod like to hook up and fish drop me a line. i will be at cedar lake tonight so hook on to the boat and come on out, something should be biting.

i dont think you spend much time on that lake to be honest. Only about 4 days a week due to how close it is to me Why don't you instead tell me how you might approach this lake or ask me about whatever I've said that you disagree with. If I didn't fish this lake a lot I wouldn't be posting in this thread. Thanks. i posted a pic on how to fish the place at that time i was there. i think thats really clear as to how id fish the lake at that time. i was there all day thursday and they fish werent in the grass but we killed them running cranks into the sunken brush piles. i assume that anyone who fishes this lake a lot wouldnt be stating wrong info. for kansas its a good bass lake. also, most of the time, including right now theres a 13-18 Slot on the bass. its been like that since march. what do you call a good bass lake? lone star? its not a bad lake but theres places here (olathe) that are just as good. ive not fished leavenworth more than anyone else but i bet ive been on that lake 25 times this year. i bet i was on that lake 50 times last year. maybe the same before that. i only post what i know. ive never caught a smallmouth. doesnt mean theyre not in there but i assume that sooner or later you catch one here or there like a gar or a walleye. the reason i take the time to download pics and detail them is because there arent "great" bass lakes in this part of kansas, only good and ok lakes. if you know a great lake myself and i assume a few other guys would like to know about it. once more, any time youre around drop me a line, i fish a lot. ill make time.

You have to realize at academy, everybody and there granny is grabbing those rods bending them, shaking them around,hitting them on things and dropping them.. I can't tell you how many ive watched my dad break in that store. Little kids too. They can get pretty beat up in a store like that. Especially around children. You ain't kidding.... I've seen store clerks at Cabela's take a rod and bend it on the floor.I thought to myself "Man,that can't be good for their rods".I guess he was trying to show the stiffness/action to somebody.Didn't make any sense to me to be honest. i do that. if im dropping a chunk of cash on a rod id like to know if the guides are on the spline of the rod or even close.

talked to a friend who is a boat owner but fished a tourney as a non-boater since the club has more boaters than non-boaters. the guy Brandon draws to fish with has the rep. of knowing the lake realllllly well. as the story goes they are catching fish, not big ones but paper fish and such and the topic comes up Brandon will be fishing a tourney as a boater in a few weeks on this very lake. there were only 4 more fish caught after that and the spots picked by the boat owner with this huge rep. for the lake were labeled by the non-boater as junk....... we think the boater threw this tourney to keep Brandon from learning a few good spots on this lake. is this common?

fished a good spot this morning. the bite was slow since the water was stained but we were catching a fish here and there. after 2 hours of drizzle and wind id had enough. fishing back over placed we had just fished i made one last change, to a Rapala DT-6. it was like a switch was flipped, the bite picked up and my father boated a nice fish on his DT-10. after this the weather didnt seem to bother me as much. the ironic part of this is i had sworn off the DT series due to them breaking. now i sit here, trying to think of a good reason to go to BPS.

enless your heart is set on a new boat you could spend $5,000 and have a great fishing boat. and ill just add...................boat payments are way, way over rated.
