What size jitterbug are you using??? I had the same problem with the 3/8 ounce size, moved to 5/8 ounce...problem gone. It is big enough the hooks can't tangle themselves.

I saw an article where a person talked about shortening upper arm and making a double willow spinnerbait a single willow spinnerbait. Can someone walk me thru this process please? In as much detail as possible please. Thanks in advance for your help.

7 foot medium/heavy fast for me. I especially like this rod when throwing the 3/4 ounce spinnerbaits that Glenn turned me on to in the spinnerbait video. I am fishing waters I had hard time reaching with 1/2 or 3/8 ounce spinnerbaits.

I agree with Bobby. Very well made video. Hands-on information. Glenn showed not only what to do, but he also showed how to do it and explained why. Easy for all fisherman to learn with this kind of information. Thanks again to all who had a part in the video.

actually, the instore price on the cabelas prodigy is 49.00. Very good reel for 50 fifty bucks. They are made for Cabelas by Daiwa. They are normally 99.99.

I catch at least one fish nearly every morning all season long on a black jitterbug, either 5/8 ounce regular or jointed. I sometimes catch 2 or 3 fish with this bait. I also have good luck fishing in the early morning darkness with heddon torpedo. Many times, I catch a fish or two on the jitterbug and switch to the torpedo and almost immediately catch another fish. Must be the just the difference in the tow baits. I recommend at least trying the jitterbug. The strikes are explosive, and if you bank fish like I do, many times you will nearly wet your pants when you have a strike near the bank. ;D

Anybody tried this combo? I used it this past weekend and caught two nice largemouth bass in an area I had fished for about 30 minutes already. I was shocked alittle as these two strikes were the hardest I have felt in my 3 years of fishing. I was fishing by some lily pads and had already thrown a buzzbait, spinner bait, and rage tail texas rigged space monkey.

Not saying that it is practice alone. I believe most people have talent, much more than they realize. But , unfortunately for most of us, we just don't work hard enough to put the talent that we have to use. I think that Tiger Woods biggest advantage is not physical, it is mental. Where does that come from??? One could say it is a gift. One could also say it comes from thousands of hours of practicing correctly, practicing to improve weaknesses, practicing to the point where he has total confidence that he is going to nail the next shot because he has practiced it thousands of times.

I think most anyone can do what they want, they lack the drive and in this sport, maybe the time and money. Commitment, dedication, desire are words thrown around easily because less than 1% of our society live by these words. Does anyone really think Tiger Woods was "born" to play golf? He has worked his *** off for many, many years to be the best. Let me tell you, he just missed the cut on the British Open and I can promise you he is out practicing, trying to get better as we speak. Practicing with a purpose, not just hitting golf balls. That is the difference. The drive to be the best...to do what needs to be done, not what you want to do.

Exactly. I look, listen, ask, and then I think about what makes sense to me and how I fish. I am a fairly inexperienced fisherman (only fishing for 3 years or so now) and I have a wife and two kids...and little to no money. I have to be very selective. I pick out a product based mostly by what people on here "endorse", and then I wait till I find them on sale. As far as the pros go, I listen to them, and some things just make sense. I also respect the fact that some of the pros do not jump at the chance to change sponsors...KVD has been fishing quantum, strike king, nitro for along time based the stupid looking sunglasses in some of his earlier videos ;D I think it gives them more credibility when they stick with the same companies.

I am a bank fisherman. I have one area that I can access that has rip-rap (covered with tons of small treesbushes as well) along my right hand side. I have lost many lures in those trees trying to cast as close to the trees/rip-rap as possible with hopes of enticing a lunker to come out and strike. There is no way to get to them because the bank is steep and the trees/bushes are impossible to fight thru...i know because I have tried. Every so often I have a lure in the trees and I will watch every weekend. Most don't usually make it from one weekend to the next.

I know some archers who are using Spiderwire Invisibraid? I think it's called to serve the ends of their bowstrings. I also used it to suture my arm when I fell out of a tree and cut myself.

I just purchased two of their split grip models at the store in Wheeling. One was 29.99 and the other was 39.99. Two rods for 74.00 and change. I put the items in the "cart" on their website, then printed that page showing the prices. The folks in the store usually don't have a clue about what is on the website. The cashier looked at me kinda funny when I told her the 139.00 rod was on website for 29.00. She called over a supv. and the supv. looked at my sheet, and said ring them at those prices. The supervisor then asked if she could have my copy so she could alert the other front end people.

For 39.00 dollars you can't go wrong. Alconite guides, 25 year warranty on rods. I have a couple of the prodigy baitcasters and really like them. I think they compare nicely with other reels in the 99.00 to 129.00 price range. Again, I bought mine for 59.00 and 64.00 dollars. I believe they represent a tremendous value for the money spent. Lastly, Cabelas stands behind their products.

Just a suggestion from my personal experience: strike up a conversation with one or two of the sales associates each time you are in. I shop the Cabelas store in Wheeling and have become very familiar with two different clerks there. Both have helped me save money several times now. I am a bargain shopper and rarely spend more than 100.00 to 150.00 bucks, most times 50.00 or less. Both of these guys are very friendly, very helpful, and ask me if I need something every time they see me. They have sent to the bargain cave on two occasions that they sent back "new" never been used rods that had never been sold/and returned. They both clued me into the internet price match. I purchased a two tourney trail rods at christmas two years ago, and then they had their xml rods on sale. One clerk told me to bring them back and exchange them for the xml rods. When I came into the store, he saw me, went to the customer service clerks and told them he had already spoken with me and to just let me exchange the rods, then went back with me to find the two rods I wanted. I now have two "friends" to help me. Best part of all, both are great guys and have shared many fishing tips with me. We shoot the bull for several minutes each time I am there. Maybe it's because I am such a likeable guy ;D, but I can only commend these two guys on the service they provide me.

just fished them today as well as last weekend. I have the larger size, i actually bought the kit they have( 6 frogs for 19.00) which is a pretty good deal. I was throwing them in and around lily pads with 20 lb. mono and had no problems. On a much sadder note, I can not comment on catching fish with them. I have not used snag proof or spro bronzeye, so I can't compare. I did find the cabelas brand to cast better than expected, and they did not take in much water, in fact, almost no water.
