Thinking about one last rod, suggestions?
One last rod? ;D ;D What about a swimbait rod? Seems you are getting into throwing some big baits.

If I had a nickel.........
I gave in and picked up an avid, loving it so far, except that all 10 fish I landed on it during my tourney were short!!

Just ordered my 3:16 wake jr!
Nice, that's definitely one of the hotter swimbaits. Good luck!

Fishing License Fees in your state...
Gotta have the two rod stamp. I use it more for trolling for trout, macs, etc. Very seldom for bass. Yout got jipped. $5?!?! They gave me mine for free. Yeah I have the two rod stamp as well for trout. No I didn't pay for a holder, I just made my own.

Carrot Stick

Fishing License Fees in your state...
Where else do you have to have your license visible besides California? Charge you another $5 for the holder, and it's easy to forget when you can't just leave it in your wallet.

Fishing License Fees in your state...
Geez a lot of you guys got it good. Costs me $45 for my California license after buying the bay stamp. Of course there's a ton of other stamps you have to buy for various other things. Another $60 for non-resident Oregon license, and another $20 for a harvest card to keep salmon/steelhead/halibut/sturgeon.

Buyers Beware!
yeah I wouldn't touch any of those "LC" and "megabass" lures on ebay. Unless they are showing the original packaging.

dilemma
Your accounting numbers had me all confused! I think it's definitely worth it pulling the trigger on the avids. I've read a fair share of negative reviews on the premiers, but have yet to see anything but great reviews for the avids. Seems to be a big jump in quality in the St.Croix line after the premiers. I'm waiting for my Avid AS68MXF to arrive, so I can't really give you too much insight.

Good top-water for stripers
Yeah those sporty spooks Joe makes look great. I'm on the same saltwater forum as redlinerobert so I've seen a bunch of his work. Lots of people been having good success on them; I just asked Joe for some quotes. Prices are very reasonable.

College Football - Who ya got?
Pac-10 getting no love AGAIN >

Don't you hate it when this happens ??? :-(
Sounds like typical bay area fisherman weather. It's nice when you can't fish and crappy when you can, but you still go anyways.

coloring line
As husker said, black is less visible in the water, and quite a few people choose to do this with their braided line. Some people also choose to cover their hooks in sharpie to prevent rust.

Quantum Reels and Rods
Hey, just curious. Why are you in the market for Quantum products, specially if you have no idea about the rods? :-?

Winter Pourin
Plastic making basics: Plastic Hardener and Softener Scent Glitter Fine salt Colorants Microwave (I picked one up at salvation army for $5) Pyrex Measuring cup Molds or make your own mold (there is a good tutorial on bassresource for making your own molds out of plaster; how I found this site) Gloves Protective Eyewear It isn't exactly cheap to pour your own plastic. All the stuff adds up. If you were only interested in pouring trailers, I wouldn't take it on. Do a search on this forum and read up before you start doing anything. I would recommend buying a starting kit from del-mart.com, and making additional molds yourself. Just make sure it's something you really want to do.
