  1. fuego, couple curados, citica, moving towards the daiwas, sol next
  2. Yup no salmon this year for norcal. My brother has a boat in the SF bay, sucks. A lot of angry fisherman over here. Was terrible fishing last year, and I would rather fish for halibut, rockfish, bass etc, but its bad news for the party boats whose main season revolves around salmon. Now the other fish populations are going to feel the pressure!
  3. Long as you're ok with your boater giving you crap for fishing "rich man weights"!
  4. Your saltwater equivalent of a drop shot rig. Bigger weight, line, hook and instead of a plastic slap on an anchovie, dead or alive.
  5. Some say coloring the tips with sharpie helps, but I havn't noticed it working very well for me.
  6. That night shift bait monkey is DEADLY. You start throwing stuff in the cart, and suddenly your like screw it, ill go big! Nice baits for sure.
  7. I like my sahara. I think the symetre is the best value for the money. Also a fan of the pflueger president.
  8. I rarely use a leader with braid. I know some do to cut down on costs and save their braid.
  9. Sure, many people throw this bait. They run very shallow either at 0 feet or 1-3 feet, so it is not terribly easy to lose.
  10. Drew first blood on the flick shake in my club tourney today. Lost the flick shake on the fish. It's definitely not too durable and I managed to lose some with o-rings fishing them wacky rigged. It's a good bait, and I will be buying more.
  11. Recently became part of the carrot club. Fished it yesterday for the first time, loved it. I have the 6'9 parabolic. Also have the avid AS68MXF.... different applications so not really comparable. Both rods are great, for cranks i'd go with the carrot for plastics the avid.

    Zebra... Zuchinni? :-?
  13. Symetre. My local tackle shop salesman even recommended it over the stradic. Grip both reels by the reel foot and reel a few times and take your hand off. I think you will be surprised by which one has less wobble/ feels smoother.
  14. Hey, I think I've fished that spot on accident while trying to find Phoenix lake in San Rafael. Ever been to Phoenix lake? Yup Phoneix lake is part of the watershed. Free parking too. Fished it over winter break when I was back from college. Not too much luck, but I'll probably hit up in a few weeks for spring break. What lake did you end up fishing? Bon Tempe, Alpine, Lagunitas? If your friend ever wants to fish from a boat he could go to Del Valle, and rent a little aluminum for the day.
  15. Best thing he could do would be to go into a tackle shop... If he's living in the city, try Hi's Tackle Box, 3141 Clement St. A annual resident license will cost about $45 with appropriate stamps. I'm sure one of the guys at Hi's could give him some pointers with the lakes... I fish the Marin Watershed from shore when I'm home, which would be a little tricky to find for him.
  16. I play with my gear all the time, think my roomate is weirded out haha. I'm itching for a *** order, but I'm ready to fish.
  17. Yup my brother had the same problem when he purchased a Symetre and had it spooled up with P Line on the spot. Went out and tried to fish right away, it sucked!
  18. what rod is that? Looks like a lami XMG50 but its not? :-?
  19. I think he means on the lip.

    Nice fish
  21. *** most def, free shipping and takes two days to arrive.
  22. Yeah It's got wormwood in it, that was the whole issue in the past. I believe absinthe without wormwood has always been fine?
  23. Only without wormwood, but at 160 proof and a terrible anise taste, it's some crazy stuff. Needless to say my bottle is pretty full. Its recently legalized so it seems. You know about the guy in Alameda making it Robert? Here's the article. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/12/05/MNQJTO9FM.DTL&tsp=1 Heard its selling out quick. Read another article about a metalsmith who started making absinthe spoons to follow up with the recent legalization.
