Ever do this
Look at it this way- it might not be a bad thing to lose those "aqua glows"....just think if you had them and were actually fishing with them!! Just kidding, of course. Heck, i've lost a couple of cranks during a cast. Now you'd think that one could find a floating/diving crankbait that's sitting out there somewhere, with who knows how much line with it, but in my case, you'd be wrong.

How do you make it?
Quite the set-up Tin, thanks for sharing! I love pics of workshops, gear,tackle,boats,whatever- just to see how others do it.

What to do in clear water?
All the lakes i fish are clear, and the only time i downsize is when the water temps (in spring) are less than 60 degrees. After that, all the big boys get to come out and play until my season ends(early nov.). Clear water (to me) means fast retrieves for hard baits in mostly natural colors (unless cloudy skies or strong winds). I know you were talking about night fishing,(which is something i don't do) but i had to chime in anyways....

line survey

Bass Pro Rods
I unfortunately have never spent over $100 for a rod, which excludes me from a loomis or st. croix, and i'm afraid to go near them in a store.(monkey) I do have 2 bps extreme's 7'mh spin,7.5'mh flip which i am pleased with. Also use a 6.5'ul microlite in the spring.

Flouro questions
Hey Paul, my advice is to not buy it. I stink with flouro. Spinning worse than baitcasting, but both blow. Maybe i had a bad batch (2 times, 3 years apart), but i'll never buy it again. XL for me thank you. But what do i know....

Let's the play Reel Gear Ratio Matching Game!!!
I don't have a 7:1, and don't know how many more inches it brings in compared to a 6:1, but i feel i don't need one. The 6 & 5 do well for me. I broke out my old Quantum 3.8:1 last week and threw some big 'ol cranks...

BPS DROPSHOT MINOS
Anyone making dropshot minnows like those hand-poured,round tail, bps/xps ones? I would like to see/buy in quantity.

Worst tackle investment you have made...
Back in the early 70's, as a young teenager i had the bass bug bad. Johnson reels came out with a new high-speed spincast reel called the Sprint. That thing brought in line twice as fast as any Zebco ever could, and with my newfound love, the spinnerbait, I would whip my dad almost every time out. I don't think i got 10 trips with it before it was rendered useless.

Serious question... need answer
I once caught a 14" lm that had 4" of mono and just the shank of a hook sticking out it's butt. Must've been there for awhile because the hook was rusted pretty bad. Pulled it out and let it go.

Stick Bait Bite Detection - Deep Hooking
I use 3/0 ewg hooks with my favorite 4" Flash, and i haven't had any problems. I detect most of my strikes by watching my clear/blue XL, and by trying to keep a foot or so of slack just in case i have to feel them. Haven't used a straight shank hook in years, may have to try that....

Taking Bets: Who's gonna be the first to buy this?
I would probabally buy one if it was under $5. I look in my tacklebox and see some strange-looking baits, and i bet you do too. I'm not saying that i would fish with it (although, how could you not try it), but ,unfortunately, i also buy lures just for the"museum". And the "i can't believe you caught something on that thing" from my fishin' bud ranks high on my list of things i like to hear.

Essential Techniques
Ditto what Raul said about buzzers- although i kinda gave up on them years ago. Still keep a couple in the boat though....

Versus TV
Hoping to catch a fishing show this morning, they have a bunch of boys riding bicycles! Who watches this crap? And don't get me started on watching at night- what with those other boys hugging then punching each other....

The worst thing about fishing on 4 July
That so many of our young people are overseas and can't go fishing, or be with their families and friends.

Spinning reel line
I start the season with 4#, switch to 6# in june. Tilene Xl in clr/blue/flour is my line of choice. 7' ML rod, old Mitchell 300a, (brought out of retirement, like the large spool dia.)Owner dropshot hooks, and el-cheapo bass casting sinkers.

Revo STX Backlashing
I was going to say it's that dang floro until i read a little further. And since you have experience on other bc's, can't use that excuse either. And i don't even own a revo. Why am i even ....

How to fish light cover?
Perfect place for soft plastics. I like to rig them on a Slider spider head more than a t-rig. The light wire hook is fine unless you plan on 5#'s. A jig would also work.
-
storing plastics
I like wraps. In my endless pursuit to try to downsize what i take on the boat, i find that these will hold alot without taking much space. Dropshot baits; Flash,Sluggo and floating worms;and 6 to 10" worms get their own wraps. Spinnerbaits and jigs also get their own wrap.I leave what i don't take at home in their original package, and refill wraps as needed before the next time out.

A little help if you could...
Catt is right - mono is not the problem. Sometimes they just get off so you have a story to tell.

nickle & diming must stop!
Well, if you guys were trying to make it seem not so bad, it worked. I figured someone else might want to bitc$ a little about their boat/motor problems also. I'm just a little bummed about how little i've been able to go fishing this year. Normally by the 4th of July, i have gone out about 20 times -so far this year only 11. Anyways, trailer to be fixed this week. Thanks for sharing a little of your greif...mark

nickle & diming must stop!
Just have to bit@h a little. Please excuse me, but i'm getting tired of repair bills this year on my '96 boat. New fuel line and filter, and a water impellor was installed for "preventitive service", and try to find out why my outboard only wants to start on occasion- $385. Then back in for a coil pack (which cured my starting problems)- $285. That's not too bad - that's the only motor repairs for 13 seasons. But my real beef is with my trailer. It came with those stupid bias-ply tires, and last year switched to radials. Well, they are a little bigger in width and diameter, and would rub on the fender mounting tabs when i hit a big bump. Coming home from fishing 3 weeks ago, 1 of the tires lost it's tread, ripped the fender off, and cracked the trailer. 2 new radials - $190. Now the crack in the trailer is so bad i either have to repair it, or just get a new trailer. I'm not sure it's worth dumping$250 to repair that pc. o'crap, or just buy a new one. Oh, and by the way, my depthfinder's (1yr. old) screen got corrupted and i have to send it in for repairs also. SHEESH! > :-/ :-? :'(
