Mat Predicament
It depends on what kind of weeds it is and how thick to me.If you are fishing an actual mat of very thick stuff with very few or no visible holes then running something across the top is kind of futile. In other words there would be no way for the lure to displace enough water or the bass to have any way of finding it.You have to be able to somewhat disturb the weeds and the water surface in order for the bass to be able get some kind of visual on it. If the weeds are more sparse with scattered mats and or holes then yes by all means try a frog type lure or light or weightless texas rig.As long as it is moving water and causing some kind of commotion. Also let the baits sink in any hole that are in it's path.Sometimes this is necessary when they won't hit the top. Running the edges thats a different story. If the fish are out and on the edges then a topwater, waking bait,or spinnerbait can be the ticket. I will usually try that before driving right in and trying to flip and punch

first bass of the year & a new personal record
Wtg And judging by the picture it looks about four pounds but still if you know its your biggest then thats all that matters. Get out there to Mogadore on the grass flats with a spinnerbait! It's that time of year.

Recomend a lure for topwater fishing mossy areas that don't cost $10+ each :)
True,I have had that problem with scummy moss, but the bronzeye poppin frog doesn't do that and that is what I would reccomend. This is one of the hottest and most effective new baits out.

Super Aggressive Fish
Yep shad and shiners will do it too.Have had swarms of them on use before so thick you can cup your hands and catch them. When I lived up north there were a few parks I used to swim at that had some goldfish in them and those would do the same thing. I haven't witness bluegills do it yet though.

what is the deal with senkos???
Yeah I came off kind of abrasive, sorry to any, or all. Basically whatever suits your style is what goes.Theres a lot of things I do that I know a lot of people on here won't even touch. I don't like to use the senko as a primary or search bait mainly.I like it for a follow up and also use it when the bite is extremely tough or in pressured waters. Boy I could really open a can of worms if I started a post titled "whats the deal with jigs and whats all the hype" I just don't get it and they have almost no place in my box :-X

what is the deal with senkos???
So a culprit worm will catch suspended post frontal fish while hopping it on the bottom. : So whats all the hype? Any newbie,novice,child,dum@#s,or retard can catch fish with a senko type lure, thats why.Take someone who has never fished a day in thier life or cannot even cast a rod and they can catch fish on those things.Wacky rig it under a bobber and a 6 yr old can have a blast. Some tournament guys get easily offended when someone weighs in a huge sack caught using these things. At times it is almost like cheating since it takes very little if any skill at all to catch fish with them.No they won't always work but if there was a magic bait for bass fishing this would be the closest thing

tungsten bullet weights
I like the price of lead. For the most part Tru-Tungsten is competing with lead, to a much lesser point brass, and to an even lesser point steel. You are overpaying for the price of hype. "Oh my! Ike uses it and catches lots of fish I better use it too." Brass and steel are both plenty sensitive and are cheaper than tungsten. x2 on what Burley said.I have tried other tungsten weights and most if not all are junk and will easily cut my braided line. I don't use it cuz Ike or any other joker says I should.I use it beacause I like it.Seems to me the people who consistently knock something are the ones who haven't even tried it. I throw out a lead weight every couple hours if not sooner fishing the shell rock drop offs and ledges in the pits around here. They get beat up in 2 seconds and will fray the line.I actually spend more on lead when it all adds up using 2-3 per trip for one worm rig per say.

Bass Pro Shop surprise
So what was the price? You should have asked for a killer deal after also telling them that there was probably no way anyone would buy that thing. Then again that would probably be a waste of breath since bass pro will have nothing to do with giving deals of any type :

The Ten Incher
An eight inch bass will knock the snot out of it. It's all about profile.Sometimes they want it big and sometimes they want it smaller. You do however increase your chances of catching bigger bass on the big worms but may Sometimes limit your number of bites.A couple of the ponds I fish they are on big worms right now and we are catching a lot of them 1lb or less.

Yahoo mail users question
Right I figured as much since they asked for password. Hotmail pulled some crap on me a year or so ago but they merely said accounts inactive for 60 days will be deleted and then they proceded to delete my account since I didn't use it. I got a bunch of pictures links and other info in my email.I guess common sense would dictate that I move what I want to storage somewhere else regardless. :

Night Fishing and Lure Color
Far as topwaters go I am straight black all the way at night.

braided line with rattletrap
As far as whether or not your getting bit using that line I don't think that matters. I have theorys about it but would really like to see underwater video in slow mo to actually know if it changes the lures action or wiggle.I have braid on almost all my rods.I am also not fishing clear water. It has its good and bad sides just like any line type. Yes braid has no stretch.Rattle traps are the worst of all evils for fish jumping and getting away anyways and braid makes it that much worse. Cranks and topwaters or any treble hooked lure in general is better for keeping fish when using mono. The stretchier line acts as a shock absorber when the fish surges and shakes.Other ways to compensate are to use a more parabolic(bendier)rod and to set your drag a little looser than normal and play the fish with the rod instead trying to winch them in.You can also tie a mono leader 3-6 feet long, which helps, but that will depend on whether you can tie a good knot and have also confidence in it

Night Fishing and Lure Color
As far as plastics go it don't make a difference to me.I fish some pretty nasty looking water sometimes and can catch them on translucent watermelon to smoke to black or brown.I believe it has more to do with the vibration signature of the lure. I tend to throw my "junk" colors at night and catch them just the same.
