best tasting lake fish??
Walleye, crappie, and perch are tops.I would have to give number one to yellow perch though! Don't have the pleasure of catching and or eating those living down here anymore but I think the 12 month fishing season makes up for it ;D Around here a lot of people say tilapia are the best.I can't bring myself to it though. They look like disgusting little sucker carp.

Drop Shot uses
Good for bed fishing too

Kick Tail Swimbait...

Hook Set
Also do not point the rod directly at the fish. Keep a constant bend in the rod when attempting to keep them from jumping. Sweep the rod low and to the side and keep it bent, maybe put the tip in the water, but don't point it at the fish.If the fish is charging away and or pulling drag do not reel at the same time.Use the rod in an attempt to control the direction and turn the head.Any slack or loose line must be quickly taken up and constant tension maintained. I am sure others might disagree but it seems there are certain days when it is just difficult to keep them pegged depending on how they hit.Are they sucking it up and causing a heavy feeling or slashing at it? The quick slash hits can sometimes cause a poor hookup since they swipe at it so quick in an attempt to wound it or ****** it away from other fish in the area.Change colors or add scent sometimes works. If you say you are using owner and gammy hooks there should be no problems. Are the hooks large enough for the bait your using? too small of a hook will cause the bait to ball up and plug the gap with plastic on the hookset.

best drop shot baits???
Berkley realistix power minnows are good.Lunker city finesse fish and Zoom fluke.Trickworms and finesse worms wacky rigged and also a Yammy kut tail in 4 or 5 inch. Yum bigshow paddle worm in all sizes including the 10 inch are my new experiment.

Senkos... How much are you payin'?
How did this "my senko is better than yours" thread make it this far? Use what you like. I know what I like and I know which ones actually work better.I know which ones are far more durable but stiff as a piece of old leather too. :

Use a spinnerbait trailer or not?
I guess I am the odd ball. I despise trailer hooks.I throw my baits through too much crap to use those things. I like to use zoom flukes and super fluke jr. as my trailers but only use a trailer 50% of the time usually to bulk up the bait and slow the fall.

Jointed Shad Rap
So it wouldn't be a good idea to fish the jointed shad rap in shallow water ponds? It would be fine The only single downside to this bait is that it is not the best one to be throwin around stumps, brush, and cover etc. since it does suspend. The jointed 5 works fine in 5-7 feet of water. Also remember to keep the casts short and the bait won't dive as deep

Tobacco user? Prepare to bend over...
I really didn't find your original posts offensive HJERK. You spoke your mind and seemed to genuinely care about the risks that people like me take by smoking. What I can't stand however are those people with the "my s--t smells like roses attitude" because they don't smoke and I am doing nothing but killing them just by my very presence. In other words I don't think you came across that way and if you did I would have been the first to post a nasty retort.

Tobacco user? Prepare to bend over...
8 dollars a pack? It would be a lot cheaper to just smoke something better for that price :-X
-
Tobacco user? Prepare to bend over...
I need to start wearing Depends already to prevent seepage. Philip Morris already rasied their prices and I had to pay 4.42 for a pack of Marbs this morning and that is without the tax increase yet....

Big Bite Fightin' Frog
Pretty cool looking but honestly I would probably stick with the rage tail space monkey if I wanted a bait like that.
- Jointed Shad Rap

Have you all noticed...
Heres a story for you.We have been busting them on beds since late January and smacking them on frogs and spooks all this month too ;D
-
Jointed Shad Rap
It flat out catches fish! They can't stand it What size did you say you got? I like them all.

Glenn is probably gonna change my name to 502questionmouth if I keep this up but....
Agree all. It is part of fishing and learnig for that matter.Past failures can lead to future success.Getting skunked sucks big time, but if it was just catching then how fun would it be.Could we even call it a sport? I have a friend that I fish with frequently who likes to throw the same thing over and over and work it the same way always and then get discouraged and simply say "they just ain't bitin today" What a load of horse s--t. I guess it just depends on the individual angler and who is willing to figure things out and learn and who just wants fish to jump in the boat :-?

WOW! I Won The Lottery
I was dumb enough to answer a reply to one of those once telling whomever it may concern to F*** off and now they have validated my email address and I get at least 5 of those a day sometimes :

Zoom trick and finesse
Don't ever put a nail in the rear end and skip it under trees and docks or drop into holes in weeds and pads. The bass don't like it that way.

changing hooks?

Dark Water
Junebug. It's the Florida standard Other colors that you can't go wrong with for plastics would be: Black black blue red shad green pumkin/chart Spinnerbaits in white and white black speckled never fail. Cranks in white patterns, parrot, and chart/purple back are go to's. Topwaters in white or bone.Buzzbaits in black.Frogs in black. Most of the water in Florida is that color or what i call coffee and tea

Trigger X Lures
x2 and the bait designs look kinda stupid too, aside from the creature. For that price I'll pass and put a little megastrike on the other non-gimmick baits I use. My buddy bought a bottle of the spray and tried to use it bedfishing. The instant the fish nosed up to the bait they ran off.Makes me wonder since I threw my regular brush hogs and craws in there and proceded to catch the same fish. :
