Whats the water clarity like in this said place?? I fish a lot of these "bowl shaped" places and they can drive a guy nuts sometimes.

backreeling: a sure way to get a cluster**** I used to use it with my cheap reels as a kid when fighting fish like carp which make long straight powerful runs,then I finally figured out how the drag will wear the fish down better.

One thing about keeping the rod low: Do not ever aim the rod directly at the fish.Make sure it is off to one side or the other so there is always tension on the fish.The bow of the rod absorbs shock.

Over top of weeds that are barely submerged also.Along brushlines. Also effective on schoolies when you see them busting bait on top occasionally,but I would prefer a spook or popper in that situation.

Unfortunately...This is going to be a bigger problem in the near future.I have already been reading the stories in my local paper. I work part time at a small gas station.Went out to check our levels the other night and found the lock broken on the unleaded.The would be theif must have gotten scared away or discovered he couldnt draw the gas. Makes me wonder if one of these idiots would be dumb enough to try to pound the lock with a rock or other metal object.They would go to heaven real quick ;D

Your living in Florida where big fish roam.5 lbers are very common.Believe me the spook jr is not too big.I have been amazed on numerous occasions at the dinks I catch on that thing are are maybe 1 inch longer than the lure : I now throw the full size super spook and still catch an occasional 1 lber on it LOL. Bigger looking baits can be intimidating when you are beginning or when you just want numbers.Been there too. When you see so many times the kind of stuff these fish will "try"to cram down their throats those baits dont look so big anymore.

Sounds to me like yet another victory for the bait monkey :-/

Absolutely! And dont limit it to just "slop fishing" it works great around and in brush lines,skipping under trees,docks. I have also recently discovered how well they work when allowed to sink in holes and twiched under water along weedlines. I rig them with a small pegged bullet sinker when I really want to get down into the slop.

Same bass twice? No its not entirely out of the realm of possibility especially if it was off of a bed.The bass usually dont take too kindly to invaders. Been there done that.I have also broke my line off on one and come back to the same spot an hour or so after only to catch the little punk with my worm,hook,and sinker stuck in his throat

One thing is to shorten both skirts a little.It creates less "drag" and will walk easier. Other than that its all in the wrist and takes a little practice.Dont expect a dramatic sideways turn like a sammy or spook.It isnt made to walk quite like that. This frog still catches quite well when hopped forward with pauses in between also.Used to hate it,then I got used to it and it works pretty nice.

worth a 1.00 a piece??? I have been paying 4.99 for them, and they seem to be especially durable,can catch multiple fish on one unlike other baits(gycb) that I have been seeing more and more for 7.99 a bag >

Funny you mention that. My buddy (who is a rookie :) thinks he has to have a picture of every bass over 2 lbs.I always try to dicourage this and its kind of annoying.We are not living up north LOL and I wont even consider a picture anymore unless the fish is at least 8 lbs. Not saying that my standards are that high or I am some kind of master angler,5-6 lb fish are still very far and few in between.I would just rather not traumatize the fish any more than necessary and go through measurements,weighing,and pics for a more common size fish.

So far i have been using the poor boy half azzed method: Gorilla Tape Works like a champ Ugly, but works in a pinch.I know your looking for a more permanant solution though...... :
