  1. These worms dont truly float, but they stay on top so well or sink so slowly that is the name of a technique. Some brands sink faster than others such as a zoom trickworm. At first it does help to use the bright colors like white or pink so you can keep good track of how the lure is acting. Basically on top like he said but also you can work it like a fluke. It will VERY slowly sink.Twitch, twitch, pause, sink, twitch, you get the idea. I would also like to add the it is important with this and any "weightless technique" to maintain a good bit of slack in the line and try to keep the rod at about 10:00or so. Doing this will insure that the lure has the free moving erratic action and will stay in the strike zone longer. You want to concentrate on snapping the line with your wrist and not pulling the lure through the water. Fish tend to slurp these rather easily and you will usually feel a well defined tick or see a swirl near the surface. In one motion drop the rod, reel the slack tight and give em the newest lip piercing fashion. Good luck,as this is one of my favorite ways to fish.
  2. Good point,Though I first saw a picture of it in Bassin magazine a while back in one of last years issues but it didnt say how to do it.It was something about melting a hole and sealing it back up with something. The strands were not very long either.Looked really sweet.
  3. Anyone had experience with this bait? Whatcha think? I like the fact I can walk the dog anywhere.I have been big on throwing my soft bodied frogs into any heavy cover I can find lately and this may be the ticket... I hope. Also does anybody know the best way to modify this lure and add skirted legs. I have seen pictures before, but not sure of the best way to go about it. http://www.***.com/descpageHDTSNAG-SPWDD.html#
  4. Buzzbait/buzz frog, or if I want to go slower a senko with a nail weight.
  5. Good stuff! I am with Catt x2
  6. No, I dont know much about the tables but I have had some of the best days of my life on the best days listed.Even If it was sunny and clear which is by far the worst condition to have in Florida. I have in turn also gotten skunked on those said best days but very very rare. This is yet another way that the fish show us that we cannot write a rule book for them.Somehow and for whatever reasons they will have their victory days too. I would not make it a point to plan fishing just by those days. Go as often as you can.
  7. Whenever my old lady wants me too
  8. Oil desolves??? I am partial to megastrike
  9. They ARE sharp as gammies,a little less durable though. They rig a bait really nice and straight. I personally dont like them as it seems I have missed a ton of fish with them.Could be my style.Dont know. Not saying they are that bad, just that they dont work for me.
  10. This thread is really crappy
  11. Hmmm I'll chatter anything once! My new one is a rage craw, pretty wicked!
  12. I have been very eager to start a thread about this for a while. I have at least 2 partners that completely insist on throwing their trash in the water and it is getting to be infuriating. I' m being told "wheres my evidence" or "those guys are only trying to sell gulp or food source" and garbage of that sort. It doesnt matter either way.Why in the hell do you want the bass to always see and smell the items we are trying to catch them with all over their environment??? Have you ever seen what a yum dinger or senko does after it soaks for a day or say? It expands twice as large! If a bass will strike a worm while it is deadsticked for 10 mins while your picking out your back lash or playing with your self then what is going to stop them if you toss a used one out and it slowly falls and sits for a while. I mean Jezus, the ignorance of some people in this world continues to amaze me on a daily basis. How hard is it to throw it in the boat and pick em up later or keep a trash bag around,or stick em in your pocket if bank walking. If even one nice bass out of 100 is hurt or affected in any way from this stupidity then thats too many for me IMO. I can vent all day about this.....but people will be people. :-/ I am by no means a fisheries biologist or environmental expert but common sense is common sense. You dont have to be a brain surgeon, rocket scientist,or nuclear physicist to figure it out.
  13. Absolutely! Use it fishing structure when a hopping or twitching retrieve fails. Use enough weight to keep it down,1/4 oz or less for under 10 ft and up to 3/8 or a 1/2 for 20 ft or more.
  14. If it was a female you probably would of had to evacuate the area. We do it often, but when they do it its LETHAL.
  15. x2 X3 and I am also partial to VMC
  16. Never seen or heard of such a creature But on the otherhand those sure look sweeeet!
  17. Dude T-Rig, that second fish is a FOOTBALL!! Beautiful! Going way back in this thread to the discussions of a quiet entry or splashy: One thing I truly believe is the skittering sound of skipping or gliding a senko or fluke across the top of the water really turns them on and makes them curious. Practice this! I skip it even when I am not trying to reach underneath cover
  18. First one looks like its 2 1/2 lbs JK Buddy! keep yankin those jaws J
  19. LOL I do it all the time too but this time he just came up outta the scum and hammered it. Those little turds are always ruining my topwater spots in the morning >
  20. pretty good fighter for a 4 footer ;D
  21. CATCHING LIZARDS A little after dawn this morning I thought it was a lunker so I set the hook hard
  22. One thing it depends on is if they were smaller fish. They have an annoying tendency to to smack at the skirt. The bigger fish, 2 lbs or more, tend to just inhale it. Pause a little longer and be very watchful for a strike. You will iss a buch of fish if your fishing matted grass and such, its the nature of the game
  23. She really blew up on my stickbait. I changed to a white skirt and it really turned them on! Flip it and lay it gently in the hole. Take a soft stick and jerk it 1,2,3 times then repeat This hole is all dried up! D**n it, I am well hung!
  24. I have never exaggerated the weight or size of a fish
  25. High wind without a doubt. I'm in a 14 ft aluminum with a 50lb thrust trolling motor. Can you say spinning in circles??!!! Then the fish decide to get buried 10 miles deep in cover so flipping is the way to go.Yeah right, the way to go into a sanitarium in about an hour >
