  1. HAPPY "belated" BIRTHDAY!! I didn't get to the BR Forums yesterday. Bummer! Hope you had a GREAT day and got some nice stuff!
  2. Directional sign for David Carradine??
  3. NICE looking boat! Good for you and your son!!
  4. CONGRATULATIONS!!! KILLER DEAL!! Congrats on the WIN too!
  5. Along with the tips I've gotten from all the great guys and gals who frequent the BR forums, I watch a lot of the TV fishing shows like Angling Edge and Bass Masters. I'd put the wealth of info from the BR Forums up against ANY one professional, even KVD (who I really like).
  6. Trust me on this.....any of these "hybrid" kayak/canoes are NOT stable enough to stand in without the addition of outriggers/stabilizers attached like the ones in the picture in my previous post. I tried standing in my NuCanoe the first time I took it out without the stabilizers and let me tell you the WATER was very COLD if you get my drift. With the stabilizers attached it is pretty stable now and I can stand in it with much more safety BUT it is still not all that steady. I suppose if I moved the stabilizers more to the middle it would be steadier OR if I added another set OR larger floatation it would be steadier but then again, I should have just bought a pontoon and been done with it. There are a LOT of pontoons that have the stability I wanted for standing but the one I was looking at cost $1,000 and I kinda got sold on the NuCanoe from the website info which wasn't totally misleading on the stability issue but I say again, these things are NOT all that stable for standing up in to fish or "nature break" (into a jug/jar). That is my opinion and it is founded on actual experience. Hope this helps you out.
  7. MOBY DICK & DRACULA
  8. The black pipe is where I place my Fishing Buddy sonor. I take it out and lay it behind the seat when I launch or come in for a "nature break" because the transducer rod hangs lower than the pontube itself. I usually put the rod I'm using on it when I come in too. My rack is pretty simple and easy to make. I got the idea from a Float Tube fishing forum which has MANY different pictures of racks the members have fabricated. Here's the link: http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?forum=81
  9. I call this my PONTUBE. Not quite a kickboat but more than a float tube. Got it on sale for $325 from Dave Scadden's website. Made the rod and sonor holder myself from PVC tubing. Works GREAT for me:o)
  10. Does it lool like this (sans outriggers/stabilizers)??:
  11. There are several companies that make rigid pontoon boats similar to the inflatable ones. I think Hobie makes one that has 60" pontoons. Just something else to consider. They disassemble and assemble in a matter of minutes. Here is what I like to use but it is an inflatable which I keep inflated all the time and just "top off" the air pressure when I get to the lake.
  12. My recommendation would be to buy USED and save some big $$$s. I bought this ProCraft for $6K and it was like new and all the boat I needed. Small, but will still fish 3 adults in reasonable comfort. Just my opinion.

    WELCOME back my friend!!!

  15. That's some NASTY weather the midwest is suffering! I pray that every BR member is OK (and everyone else too for that matter!).
  16. GREAT to see you back again!!!
  17. I "had" to go see "Iron Man" last month. $8.50 for the ticket, $5.00 for a small coke, and $5.00 for a small popcorn that wasn't even as much as one of those microwave bags. Told my wife when I got home that that was the LAST time I'd ever go unless it was to the Drive-In where I can take my own drinks and snacks. Movie was pretty good, IMO, but not worth $20.00 to see. I know the concessions are where all the money is made, but geesh, come on... $5.00 for less than 10 cents worth of popcorn that didn't even have butter on it.
  18. Congratulations! Now get it insured and get out there and start hookin 'em:o)
  19. These are "the BOMB"!!! I ordered 3 packages in Watermelon w/red/black flakes from BPS and when I used them yesterday on Upper Otay the bass hit 'em hard all day long. I hooked my 1st bass on the second cast of the day and had 7 hookups after that. Since you have to use barbless hooks on that lake, I lost all but one nice little 2 pounder, most right at the side of my float tube! I had what looked like a 3 pounder jump and throw the hook as I was reaching down to lip him. I LIKE these worms!!!

GREAT news!! Hope the little fellow recovers quickly as kids often do!!
  21. Congrats, Sam! Way to go.
  22. You stay safe over there, my friend. I'm praying for your safe return!! Watched "Platoon" the other day and it sure brought back some fond memories of the 'Nam. I know when my son was in Iraq for 16 months I was a nervous wreck!
  23. Horrible tragedy!! Prayers sent!!!
  24. Heatfelt CONGRATULATIONS!! Beautiful baby and young girls you have there Randall!!! Beautiful name for your newest family addition too!
  25. Congratulations! Now THAT'S an upgrade, IMO:o)
