84 Champion
Champion is a great boat. I know there are a ton of them out here in So CA. IF the boat AND trailer check out OK and you like it, then I'd say the price is reasonable. Just my personal opinion on the matter.

$50 down, $50 to go!
I received two $50 BPS Gift cards from the fine folks I work with at my retirement party on Tuesday (36 years with the Federal Government) and I already spent all of one on GYCB worms and creature baits (running low on them). Sure was fun feeding Mr. Bait Monkey again. Probably spend the other $50 later today or tomorrow:o)

Wounding the baitmonkey!
Nah. Mr. Bait Monkey is impervious to being wounded in that manner due to the offset of other stuff he knows we need/will buy. IMO:o)

Want input on Senko colors
Every bass that I've caught on Senkos were on the Watermelon w/black/red flakes and Green Pumpkin. I've tried Junebug and several of the other colors but the bass here in So CA just seem to prefer the darker greenish worms with some red/black flake in them. Just my observations. IF and when any other colors start producing, I'll post on that but its hard to stop using the Watermelon when it produces so well.

What Ever Happened to "Be on the Lake at Sun Up?"
I'm up at 04:00 every day during the week for work anyway and I have developed that "biological clock" inside that automatically wakes me up every morning even if it's not a workday. As such, it is no problem for me to get up and out the door by 05:00 for the 15-20 minute drive to my local lake and on the water at daybreak (local lake regulations only permit you to be on the water from daybreak to sunset). Haven't done much evening fishing yet but may start on Wednesday afternoons in a few weeks since my new job won't allow me to fish on Wednesday mornings (like I'm doing tomorrow:o)

Ball Girl Makes Incredible Catch......
Cool video. Now if she can hit a 95+MPH fastball, maybe they should consider offering her a contract:o)

RIP, George!!
I found out this AM that George Carlin died yesterday at the age of 71 from a heart attack. I know that his form of comedy rubs a lot of people the wrong way, BUT I have been watching him perform on TV for the past 40 odd years and think he deserves a few accolades and RIP's from those of us who did like him. He certainly was controversial but then again so were/are Richard Prior, Robin Williams, Lewis Black, Lenny Bruce, and a slew of other comedians who all deserve the label: comic genius. Just my thoughts and opinion. George MADE ME LAUGH and that's something I thank him for. May you Rest In Peace, George!

Canoe or Kayak
Here's another great option if the lake or pond isn't too large: I have the H3 Freestyle and I like it a LOT!
-
Canoe or Kayak
NuCanoe - canoe/kayak hybrid. Relatively inexpensive, easy to transport, very stable with home-built outriggers/stabilizers, plenty of room, upright sitting like in a canoe, trolling motor capable, lots of room.

How often are you "SKUNKED"?
So often as of late that I asked my wife to check my back and see if I had a permanent white stripe!!! Can't seem to figure out the lake I've been going to twice a week just yet. I've had a few hookups that went sour and I've seen some NICE bass caught in the SAME area I've been hitting, but I've yet to land a fish. Kinda been getting bummed out about it but I do think it's only a matter of time before I land that first one. In fact, this Sunday I'm going to start fishing more of the lake (all of it) and pound those tullies where most of the guys have been having a small degree of success.

The Common Denominator
I'd have to add to RW's two attributes of those on his list: a firey COMPETIVENESS and DESIRE TO WIN:o) (sometimes alluded to as "the HEART of a CHAMPION")

lure hall of fame

Happy Fathers Day!
Well, I went fishing on Saturday for 6 hours so I could be home on Father's Day yesterday. Had both my sons, both daughters, 4 grandchildren and son-in-law and daughter-in-law over all afternoon. My oldest son brought over carnie asada and shrimp for the Q and my oldest daughter and her husband brought over Q'd ribs and carnitas. WOW, we ate all afternoon and watched the Open as best as we could. GREAT day! Hope ALL your Father's Days were as good as mine. My youngest daughter bought me the new "Bucket List" DVD which my wife and I watched Saturday night. GREAT movie, IMO and my wife loved it!
