Boated this Large Beauty while pre fishing the day prior to shooting a Show! She Rocked my World Baby... Well maybe just my BOAT And I let her do her thing! Everything was going right just prior to her climbing aboard because there was a stretch of about 200 yrds where the fish were increasing in size with each one caught. I told my buddy Alex, "I bet we hit a Teener when we get out to the deeper trees" He was running my Hat Cam and I will try to get the footage up as soon as I get back to the office in a few days. She ate a pitched Rage Hawg mounted on a 5/0 Moaner Stick'r Hook and I winched her up with the 7'11" Rage Rod... We weighed her to settle the bet and she went 13.55... To answer the first part of your question, a 6" Lizard is hard to beat when a 6" profile is what the fish are asking for. They can be fished in basically all water types and depths with good success. The rigging styles are extremely diverse as well to meet the challenges that water types give us. Lizards will often catch more fish than a worm of the same length and profile... and more often than not. The main thing to consider is overall profile, length and width or body thickness. For a fact, there are many good 6" lizards on the market. I may have been one the first Lizard chunkers in the state of Texas... I'm OLD And to answer the second part of your question, there are many good products on the market that will work in most conditions and some are more readily available than others. Also price is a consideration with everything and the price varies considerably as well. IMO, Is there a 6" lizard in the world that has better designed action than the Rage Lizard... No. Will the Rage Lizard catch as many fish as other 6" lizards in same colors and in the same conditions, YES. Will it sometime catch more, Yes. Is it more versatile for other uses such as a slow moving high action swimmer or weightless finesse top water, Yes. Does it have more action and a higher flicker rate at slower retrieve speeds than any other 6" lizard in the world, Yes. Have I tested it in all of these conditions and along with many of the most popular 6" Lizards, Yes. Does it cost more than many other 6" Lizards, Yes. Is it worth it... To many it is! All my opinion of course BTW, I used a Zoom Lizard when it was first introduced and it's a good product... www.ragetail.com

I've not used a Mad Paca but I have used the Rage Hawg a few times In the case that you haven't viewed it's action, you can see it here on the "Bringin Heat" video. All of my designs are based to have full action results on the fall with only 1/4oz weight, as this footage illustrates. All swimming is at the same basic speed. Of course, all appendage movement increases as the speed of motion, retrieve or fall rate increases. The wide mid-body side flappers are designed to produce a "Springboard" effect when the bait is lifted up and released to fall... also when the weight and nose of the bait touches the bottom. The side flapper action can be seen toward the end of the Hawg footage. Hope this helps! www.ragetail.com

Great topic and I have no problem with bucket folks or anyone else keeping fish to eat especially on large bodies of water and they abide by the laws. I also agree that we harm the resource much more than we actually intend to during the standard tournament environments. C and IR (Catch and Immediate Release) for tournaments is a Dream for MANY at this point but will most likely be a reality in some of your lifetimes. Take a look at one of the NEW Shows "Major League Fishing" where the fish are released where caught immediately after the weight is recorded. IF... the previously noted study is correct, this change alone improves the mortality figures for five fish that would normally have been placed in livewells and kept thru weigh-in by some 2,900% and improves the culled fish mortality by some 1050%. The quantitative values on that would be interesting to figure out. Again, assuming that this study is relatively accurate, and I have no reason to believe that it isn't, our best practice is an approximate 1.3% mortality for managing the resource to it's highest level and improving the future of competitive Bass Fishing. At the same time, it will most likely improve catch rates substantially for everyone. Dream... yes, Goal... hopefully! Please don't misunderstand my comments as saying that we're intentionally abusing our resources, but moreover that we can and will find a way to do better. If there were no such thing as dishonesty and/or cheating, we would already be there because I believe that we all basically agree on this basic issue. Someone could do well financially when they design a fool proof system to do exactly this. Maybe it will be one of you...
