These three gals were basically running together in an area no bigger than a bar room dance floor. All three were great dancers and showed me a Wonderful time. I just might have got their dances on video, let's hope so... St. Croix Rage Rods were doing the heavy work for me again!

I took a young friend Quincy Byrd fishing early this week and LOOK at the two SLOBS he caught pitching a Rage Smokin Rooster and the Rage Hawg! Bass often target one single prey species that is abundant at any given time but they are opportunistic predators when feeding. Baits that are close replicas in shape and color are necessary when a fisherman knows exactly which prey preference the majority of the bass in their waters have at any given time and in the various parts of the lake they're fishing (match the hatch). Since bass eat just about everything that swims in their waters, many crankbait colors are intentionally painted to resemble a variety of possibe prey species at once. Orange is a natural color found on brim, perch and craws. To mimic a variety of the possible prey choices whether in shape, action and/or color is smart both for the manufacturer as well the fisherman. Also the flash of color is easier for a bass to notice from a distance in many different water conditions which causes them to investigate. When a bass investigates a quick moving presentation such as crankbaits, they'll normally commit to the bite if the bait resembles one of their prey choices. Plus there are a multitude of colors that are attractive to bass because it either stands out or it is different than the norm... All to say "feed'em what they'll eat the most of - the fastest", and If you can figure that one out... don't tell anyone what it is or where you're fishing Hope that helps Big O www.ragetail.com

Now we're talkin' BIG FISH!!! She ate a Rage Tail HAWG in 8 ft water and took me for a spin as I circled the boat completely to make her happy ; ) Released immediately where caught after a photo and a Memory! Rage Rod and 65lb Suffix Braid again...

Steezy rode with me from Tx to the Roadtrip and on the way he asked what bait presentation I thought would guarantee that he caught fish regardless of conditions... I told him that the Rage Rig using a Rage Craw or Space Monkey was the most lethal approach and I've used it for many years when the bite was both extremely good or extremely tough. I told him that if he stayed with it, not only would he gain confidence, he would see it's effectiveness and probably catch as many or more fish than anyone. It is the more subtle, gliding and basically horizontal fall with the appendages fluttering that is so attractive to the fish. Works in both cold and hot conditions. He also fished with me for a couple of those days and I came close to switching over to the Rage Rig because of his high catch ratio but that wouldn't have been fair to him Just do it for awhile and if you find the fish, They'll eat it. I like the Moaner weighted Stroker hook for this as they were designed for exactly this with the weight positioned further down the hook shank for a more horizontal fall, plus the weight is more hydro dynamic in shape (I assisted with their design) Keep it slow similar to weightless senko style fishing and if there are big fish around don't hesitate to put the Anaconda 7" or 10" on it... One of my favorite Shallow water Big Fish Techniques. Lightly Tipping tails w/Chartreuse JJ's Magic is a standard for me when fishing this rig. Hope that helps Big O www.ragetail.com

No net is good, no swinging and dropping a fish on the deck, no touching a fish when possible, no rough handling of a fish, not keeping the fish out of the water too long, always remove the hooks and carefully, opening their mouth to full is ok as long as there is no additional pressure added by pivoting the body during hook removal or when bragging on a stage... after all if it wasn't for that fish... there would be no PHOTO or CELEBRATION! Over the years, and on many bodies of water, I've caught several of the same fish more than once with no problems ever noticed. The fish didn't miss treat me by biting so I'll return the favor by treating them with care, thanking them for the visit and returning them exactly where we met! "Aint she purdy"... She loved watchin the lobster dance. I was flippin the lobster with a 3/4 ounce tungsten in about 6 ft water and she wrecked it. 65lb Suffix braid and the St. Croix Rage Rod...

Baby Rage Craw is 3", Craw is 3.875" and Lobster is 4.375. If you're using them to trail jigs, just size them according to the overall size you think the fish are looking for. Of course length of your trailer can be adjusted by pinching down the Craw. I hope you enjoy fishing them and please know that I do my best to avoid "hype" when it comes to my products but try to state the facts as I know them.
