  1. I feel for you buddy, and I can certainly sympathize. Its far too easy to go through life expecting tomorrow to come and go the same way today did. Life and your way of life is something to be cherished.
  2. Does that Falcon box have the adjustable slide out and slide in pieces of plastic (like plano)? My plano box I use now is a pain because the hooks slide under the plastic from one slot to the next.

SBRs is my go-to sauce, but if you havent tried the Budweiser BBQ sauces you are missing a good one! I was surprised when I tried it, and have yet to meet anyone that does not like it!
  4. On a related note, I stopped at a Dicks about a month ago and they were closed due to someone crashing into a power pole nearby, they gave me a 20% off coupon. I thought I put it in my glove box, but now I cant find it. Anyone else seen my coupon???
  5. Hooah Sergeant! Congrats! My best advice to you is to lead by example on and off duty, and never expect anything of your troops you wouldnt/couldnt do yourself! Enjoy it man!
  6. Welcome back! Your redeployment will consist of fishing 8 hours a day, mandatory!
  7. A couple brews may help that flight go just a little bit quicker!
  8. It seemed like from the day before the Classic through the dates listed as records that we more and more people on here every day!
  9. They are "in stock" as long as no picker has passed them through the scanner when they fill an order, once the order is filled and passed through the scanner the items are substracted from the inventory, so there 's a high probability that your order was picked after somebody elses and there you have it, you are backordered on that item. That makes sense to me. I'm now wishing I would not have told them not to send the items later if they are not in stock!
  10. I just received my first mail-order from Bass Pro Shops, and out of the 8 items I ordered only 4 were shipped (the others listed as out of stock), and none of these were "hot" new items. They were all listed as in stock when I ordered them. Is this the norm from BPS? Is *** better?
  11. I used to spend a few weekends each summer on Erie with my grandpa hooking Walleye, but its been at least 10 years since I've hooked one. I'm still not 100% sure it was a walleye, could have been a saugeye or sauger, but at 22" I'm happy regardless. It certainly beat catching a bluegill!
  12. Stopped by a local retention pond aiming for some LMB after work today. LMBs were nowhere to be found, so I decided to throw my baitcaster in the car and pulled out my ML spin rod loaded with 6lb mono to play with some bluegills for a few minutes. Tied on a 3/16 blakemore roadrunner and on my third cast I hooked a 22" Walleye/Sauger/Saugeye (not exactly sure which). I have fished that pond since I was about 10 and never caught anything other than bluegill, largemouth, and crappie. How/why would a walleye be in a 5 to 6 acre retention pond that at most is 15 feet deep in ONE spot, the rest is all vegetation that reaches from the bottom to about 8 inches below the surface!? I can't believe I actually landed that fish on 6lb mono!
  13. I dont see a problem with putting a 55 gallon upstairs...but like everyone else here, I am not an expert. I would recommend posting your questions on a forum geared toward fishing tanks/aquariums.

I'll give the BPS snaps a shot. I dont like the interlock snaps from Wally World...too much bending just changing lures, no faith in those things to haul in a decent sized bass!
  15. I really liked they way they look rigged with a tube. Thanks for the tips!
  16. I saw this as one of Marcia Rubin's sponsors and seems like it would be a great addition to the tackle box. Anyone tried these? http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast2008fintech.html

Just wondering what kind of quick snaps you all prefer when fishing cranks. Any certain brand? size? I typically dont fish any bigger cranks, no DD22s or anything quite that big
  18. This works well for me. I use the banana boat spray, but usually rub it in on my face/neck, so I wash my hands off in the water and then to be sure I did not get it on the lure/bait I spray a little crawfish attractant on my lure. Seems to work well

    Great to hear, congrats!
  20. GO BUCKS!
  21. * when the bite is tough you can sometimes use the colors that in no way look like forage in order to illicit a strike even when the fish are not actively feeding.
  22. well look at that! 250 posts, I guess I am now a full member! whoo hoo
  23. I work for the Red Cross as a Health & Safety and Disaster Services Manager for two counties here in Ohio. We currently do an annual golf outing as a fund-raiser and way to get out and meet people in the community. I'm tired of golfers, I want to set up a Red Cross fishing tourney for 2009. I have, of course, never organized a tourney before and would like to get some input from the great folks here at BR. Any tips, advice, referrals would be great. Thanks guys!
  24. Just curious, why do you do this???
  25. glad to hear I didn't get a hell of a deal on something useless. I'll be out this weekend seeing how I like it, I hope I have the same luck you've had!
