  1. Sorry, new job = less time on BR, but to update, when I had the lure I caught one LMB at about 3lbs, great fish from a small suburban pond in 40 degree Ohio April "spring time." I actually liked the action on this lure, so I bought one the same day I shipped it to Korea!
  2. hahaha, uh humm. Sorry man, that really sucks. No sounds on this site, gotta be malware!
  3. Good luck! nothing better than serving your community!
  4. Good question! I know when I first started I had NO IDEA what hook to tie on if I wanted to throw a senko, or what hook works on a dropshot, etc. I have figured some of it out now, but am still learning! I know stamina and jann's netcraft usually have a hook size chart and pics in their catalogs, and I usually look at that, but just listening to what people on here use is what helped me learn what hook goes with what technique. FOR SIZING: http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/Content/downloads/sizing_chart.pdf http://www.bobberstop.com/baithooksizes.html **obviously these will not be the same size on every computer screen, but I assume the printed view will be very close to accurate for sizing. 5. My wife recommends a "journey pendant/necklace" or but I say make a last minute hotel reservation at a nice place with a nice dinner and time for her/you to relax and just be together and do whatever, take a walk, watch a movie together, or anything else (no fishing shows in the hotel room).
  6. wow, I bet it goes into OT tied at 63! What an incredible game! I should have been asleep an hour ago!
  7. I've got more trust in Toyota than any other auto maker.
  8. I went to school in Cincinnati, and I knew guys who would "work" for Proctor & Gamble in product testing. I remember one who had to swallow a couple spoonfulls of toothpaste at night, then in the morning they would have to take a stool sample in a plastic container for the lab to sift through to see what came out!
  9. I'm the father of a wild little (just turned one) year old son, and I look forward to those days, I've got a while to wait for the grandpa days though! Congrats to Daniel!
  10. I'm planning on getting out for some trout for the first time this year, and I actually found a lot on here by using the search function, including a whole thread about waders and what to look for when shopping for them. Good luck to you!

  12. Agreed, still too early for the topwaters. I'm in Western Ohio, and we just had ice-out over the last couple weeks. I threw the rage tail just to see the action of it (works great!) but didnt have a single tick. I hooked a couple on a suspending jerkbait, fished it over the drop-offs assuming fish would be hanging there waiting for things to warm up a little more. Definitely give the tube and jign'pig a shot, drop shot is a good idea too.
  13. there is nothing more frustrating than watching the strongest man on Earth, a grandfather, struggle with something you cannot take care of for him. Prayers are with you both.

I've always loved going for a run, especially first thing in the morning. It always seems to wake me up and keep me feeling more alert and just healthy! After the Army I havent been able to go for a run due to knee problems, but I'm looking forward to starting to get a mile or two in a couple times a week this summer. Give it a try, just make sure you have good shoes or you will be hurting!
  15. oh come on, somebody has to want this! Rapala floating minnow all for the fun and enjoyment of letting your BR buddies know what/when/were you caught or missed fish on it? PM me and its your turn! Oh yeah, go XAVIER!
  16. Okay, first member to pm me with your address gets it! Went to the same local pond today for about 2 hours, got one bite, landed one LMB, I'd say about 3.5lbs, great fish, hard to find them this time of year. First Large mouth of the year, first fish of the year, all on the same day I sign the paperwork for my new job and my Xavier Musketeers take on WVU tonight!
  17. Welcome! The forums are great, and always full of new info and someone who can tell you something of value about every lake out there. Great group of guys and gals here, or as my wife calls them, my "fishing support group"
  18. I think I have seen some daily recaps of how they are doing in the general bass fishing forum.
  19. Thanks to all!
  20. We have made arrangements with the owner to purchase the home within one year, and all upgrades will be deducted from the sale price.
  21. Just got the phone call a couple hours ago. I have been volunteering with the Red Cross since I got out of the Army last year, and recently interviewed for the position "manager of Emergency and Health and Safety Services." I'm so unbelievably pumped to start this job it is absurd. I still have to meet with them and negotiate salary/benefits etc., but that is the least important part. A career doing what I love to do as a volunteer? Yes please! sidenote: This will mean training all over the U.S., which in turn means fishing new lakes! Time to buy a travel rod/reel!
  22. I figured it would be a pain, I just thought the epoxy would be nice for easy cleanups after changing oil and things like that. I hate when the concrete is stained under the car from dripping fluids. May not be worthe the trouble of cleaning an old floor, but I think its great on newly laid concrete. thanks for the info
  23. Congrats!
  24. The house we are renting has had the garage floor painted, but its flaking up BAD, and by the door going to the basement the ripped up carpet that they had glued down, so we have the yellow carpet backing glued to flaking gray paint. I want to clean it out and put down the epoxy, but how much work goes into cleaning pre-treating and what not before the epoxy goes down? Thanks guys!
