  1. good question fishizzle, I was wondering the same, as the forecast is just about the same here. I'm hoping that warming on Thursday and Friday get the bass active by the time I head out on Saturday, but I had no idea how big of an impact it will have on them.
  2. that is the advice I was given. Tennis grips are a lot easier to get ahold of, too!
  3. I think for the first 3 years my step-brother and I lived together we spent most of our time arguing who was the better player; for me it was Ryno, for him it was Andre Dawson. I think I finally won that argument! Great pic! I didn't know whether to shake his hand or wet my pants. Sandberg is easily my favorite baseball player of all time.
  4. He cracks me up. I DVR anything from Comedy Central he is on. Nick Swardson is pretty funny too.
  5. This guy knows whats up. This is what I use as well. X3
  6. haha, agreed! I wish every bass angler on the planet was not trying to buy this pattern, but that being said it is a good pattern/lure. I think the only thing that sets "sexy shad" apart from similar Chartreuse Shad color schemes is marketing.
  7. At least they finally got some closure after 43 years, I'm sure that means a lot. These searches and digs for remains of MIA heroes is one use of tax dollars I have always been more than happy to pay out for. We saw a lot of the same in Germany. My county in Ohio just brought home it's last MIA from 'nam last summer and laid him to rest.
  8. I'll bet if you ask Brent (from ***) why he offers so many colors of worms he will tell that someone asked for a certain color because they swear by it. Everyone has their favorite/most productive colors, even on the same body of water on the same day 10 different anglers will probably tell you that the bass are really looking for at least 4 different colors. What I did starting out was picked colors that I heard a lot of people mention frequently (i.e.: red shad, pumpkinseed, watermelonseed, junebug, black) and started fishing with those and I felt like I had the bases pretty well covered. Experiment and see what color you end up having the most confidence in.
  9. A big thank you to all Mods and members! I've learned far more from this site than I ever could have anywhere else, and I've become a decent bass fisherman because of it. Great work by the Mods, and always great questions/answers from the members. I love being a part of a group that cares more about supporting the sport than they do keeping their tricks, tips, and advice to themselves (as they do on every other bass site I have across.) Great work, and thanks!
  10. Thats pretty good. I have quite a few funny friends, even one buddy from college who is a stand-up comedian now, but none of them compare to how hard I laugh at my son and neices and nephews!
  11. You should think about baseball. ;D HAHAHA
  12. The only time I have ever seen bowfishing for Carp is in a spillway coming off a state park lake, which dumps into a river. The spillway is maybe 100 feet long, and at the bottom of the drop it is rocks and limbs and no more than 2 feet deep. There is no sport in standing on a rock and shooting at Carp 10 feet away in 2 feet of water. If you are doing it to control a fish habitat, you should have just jumped out of a truck with the State Department of Fish and Game logo on the side. Nobody wants to fish near an idiot shooting a compound bow at rocks and logs.
  13. I've not been impressed with anything I have gotten from riverside, with the exception of some cheap crappie grubs. I googled the riverside slingshot and found nothing.
  14. While some urine tests are pretty costly, there are those that are rather inexpensive and pretty darn accurate (like the ones a recruiter gives you before entering the military). I really think this would end up saving a lot of money rather than costing more.
  15. After seeing Burley's pictures and reading all the posts I HAVE to make it next year. Kentucky Lake was the best location for me to attend, but I couldn't make it this year. I cannot wait to see the video from this '09 outing, and I will start saving for next year's trip next week!
  16. Always good to hear another "Hooah"! Welcome to BR!
  17. Great lookin bait and great fish!
  18. If I dont have a scale and there is no one else around I use the following formula: weight of current Personal Best bass x 1.10, + cost of lures lost on that outing (dollars=Ounces) = what that fish must have weighed!
  19. Zona is without a doubt, great for the sport and hilarious! I watch a ton of fishing shows on DVR (with the exception of only Charlie Moore) but Zona's are the only ones I ever "protect" from being deleted.
  20. I've had good luck throwing a Trick Stick and surprisingly good luck throwing *** lake fork craw on the spot remover. The craw seems to produce really well in rivers/streams. That Jack's worm looks like it may produce as well! Good luck
  21. Plan on breaking open my new pack this weekend too, will most likely Texas Rig
  22. I have both 1/8 and 1/4, I use the 1/4 80% of the time with good results.
  23. BUCKEYEone replied to 90x's topic in Fishing Reports
The vast majority of the bass I fish for end up being "ghost bass"
  24. I don't know why, but in my family it seems that the peanut butter cheese crackers are a must on a boat. My grandpa used to bring nothing but those d*mn cracker when we fished on Erie when I was younger, so all those crackers do for me now is remind me of what sea-sickness felt like! I can't eat those things on land or water now!
