  1. I lost a 3:16 Gizzard Glide that I paid $200 with on about the 5th cast. Nothing to do but retie at that point. It hurts. But you have to move on…
  2. It was actually just into the high 30s when I tried to launch the boat this morning in the mid mountains of NC. Had to switch ramps and we were into the mid 40s by the time I was actually fishing on Badin. 4 great fish and a few rats and the pattern was wood + grass but no real rhyme or reason. 72 when the boat was on the trailer at noon. This is the best time of year.
  3. I go quick if I’m target casting or getting under overhanging brush. Lots of time this is in moving and/or very shallow water. I go slow if I’m covering large amounts of high-potential water with long casts if that makes sense.
  4. Put a hook on the end of your push pole and use it to hook your winch. Pull self to winch. Clip and exit. Would that work? Would be able to do the reverse to launch.
  5. It is extremely unlikely that your reel is held up because UPS did some kind of deep dive into the aluminum content of your commercial product and then the provenance of said aluminum. I’d love to see some info on that.
  6. It’s not just old, there wasn’t even an issue with the drag! All based on inexperience!
  7. ^ This is the way if you have space. Keel guard if you’re handy, cheap rubberized carpet if you’re not. All have their positives and negatives.
  8. That video was awful. Awful. Clear as a bell, plenty of space either side, and dead centers them broadside. Just awful.
  9. Nice! I had one evening in college where I caught 10 or so saugers on a jerkbait over off Topside Drive. That’s exactly all of the sauger I’ve ever caught.
  10. Strike King Triwing in 1/8 oz. It gets on top fast and has a great sound. The skirt is not particularly hearty though so have a back up. Siebert’s skirt on the Triwing is about perfect.
  11. Just DM him, he will tell you. Probably shorter now, longer in the winter when responsible people who care about quality reel service are sending him 12x reels at a time. He is truly phenomenal.
  12. I fish what I want, when I can. Jigs will always catch green bass, everywhere. They are not always the most efficient or fun method. Brown bass in a river is my favorite, and that’s a different set of fun.
  13. Mine is a fescue/clover/violet/crab hybrid blend. I just aerated and seeded for the former today. Here in Charlotte we are on the edge of a few zones so NOTHING grows well. You just have to pick what season you want your grass to die in.
  14. PSA every year, and got a colonoscopy at 45, which is the recommended age now and covered by most insurances. Had a buddy whose was found during an optional aspect of a work physical. He opted in to the digital examination after telling his doc about some symptoms he’d been having. 100% saved his life but just barely. It’s very treatable if caught early! PS - Colonoscopy prep is no joke but the actual procedure is nothing. Doc said I had a remarkably clean healthy colon. I attribute that to regular doses of Taco Bell to flush the the system!

Kind of like rabbit but more rodenty.
  16. FWIW - Two rods same spot usually means it you, not the rods.😀
  17. That’s still not weedless. What makes you think it’s weedless?
  18. The one in the picture? I’m not sure I’m following…
  19. That’s not weedless. You’d T-rig the fluke if you want weedless.
  20. I would check what WRB references above. It’s also possible that both those spools sat at Walmart for a long time.
  21. Thanks! We have Lake Adger in western NC that is the brood lake for the state. It’s about 2 hours from me but it’s one of my goals to fish it more often over the next few years.
