  1. I would check what WRB references above. It’s also possible that both those spools sat at Walmart for a long time.
  2. Thanks! We have Lake Adger in western NC that is the brood lake for the state. It’s about 2 hours from me but it’s one of my goals to fish it more often over the next few years.
  3. What are fishing this time of year? Cowgirls? I’m assuming if they’re in/near weeds you’re not dropping crappie to them?
  4. I spend 99% of my time wading mid thigh or below. I don’t like being in above my waist in any kind of current. Boots and stocking foot are the only thing I wear, they’re just a better fit, more comfortable, safer, and less drag in the water. I wet wade most of my wading however, and only use waders in colder months.
  5. I would say a little scrub with, in order, Barkeepers Friend, Magic Eraser, very fine steel wool, and/or a fine wire wheel if none of the above work. I think the fine steel wool is your best bet to get the rust without doing real damage to finishes if you are careful.
  6. I would probably fit more reasonably in the former. Also more in the ‘misplaced but optimistic confidence’ category.

Always one of my favorite posts of the year!
  8. This is why you don’t grab turtles while noodlin’…Sometimes you just have to be quick! The difference in feel underwater of a catfish and a turtle is very distinctive. that may be the most redneck sentence I’ve ever written
  9. It looks like Baltimore has 18 people on defense. They’re everywhere
  10. My changes that ever really mean anything are glitter/no glitter in a soft plastic (usually gold fleck in GP or silver in pearl/white) and/or a chartreuse or other contrasting tail. Hitting sparkle usually is appropriate for when I think they’re feeding on baitfish/shad; no sparkle is crawfish/lizards/frogs/terrestrials. I didn't mostly make this up but it’s always made sense to me. YMMV and FAFO
  11. Oh no…I’m sorry I missed that somehow. Good on you for not leaving it for her to deal with. I hope you can go through it at peace and comfortable.
  12. You’re selling the BassTrek???? Also - I’ve sold three using FB marketplace. It can be a little frustrating with scammers and tire kickers but you can usually tell the real people. Spin up a VOIP number or throwaway email address if you don’t want someone to have yours.
  13. ^^He saved Beck from a terrible pick with that catch!^^
  14. NIL is letting some of these kids make money for themselves rather than everyone else. It’ll need to find a balance but college hasn’t been about education for the biggest prospects since the 80s. This is just legitimizing it. it’s a mess but it’ll sort itself out. And my Vols did look half decent against Syracuse, so we’ll see how the year goes!
  15. In Colorado they vertical jiggle them with large tube jigs. 4-6” tube jig with an appropriate-weighted head to get it down. Little bit of sucker meat can sweeten the deal can help. The problem is always finding them and getting a bait to depth. i know it says ‘vertical jiggle’… I’m leaving it.
  16. That CL8 Mouse is a great bait. It has a deep single knock rattle and casts like a bullet. All his baits are great but the 7.5 oz Possum needs more of a commitment than the 3/4 oz Mouse. It’s my favorite rat bait.
  17. Can etrailer overnight a new hub to the lake house? Very few tools that aren’t already in the car and way quicker.

Ahhh the Walkers Cay Chronicles- great show. What a shame…
  19. I would agree with @TOXIC but to each their own. My first kayak was $400 used and a sit-in. I loved that thing. My second and third were Nucanoes around $1500. My boat was just over $5k and is just an aluminum with a 20 hp mercury. For me the kayaks were about functional minimalism but we’ve left that deep in the rear view. It is cool how some of these yaks are kitted out but the amount of gear and confinement in a small slow space just doesn’t appeal to me. TETO and YMMV NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!!!😀
  20. Brisk! I thought 62 in Charlotte was unseasonably cool this morning.
  21. I lean towards liquid nails for boat-sized repair projects. Be advised that if prepped correctly, it will never come off.
  22. The goat is a little more subtle. Works great on redfish too.
  23. Tuna sandwich, that way…chum.
