  1. jerkbaits,spinnerbaits,tubes n senkos.
  2. DO NOT WAX THE PAD AT ALL. Just wax what is visible on when it is on the trailer.
  3. Those are nice river smallies. Keep an eye out in the next couple weeks I am gonna post some real deal Ohio smallmouth.
  4. Go to the supermarket and get ya some catfish fillets or something. Put those fish back for the future!
  5. I have some BPS Extremes I can throw 4 inch senkos pretty far. I use 15# line and have never really tried to throw anything smaller. I have spinning tackle for the really light stuff.
  6. I can take the wind. I really don't mind it unless it has heavy rain with it. I have been on Lake Erie in some pretty rough stuff, (20to30mph) that gets a little hairy. But on our smaller lakes I just deal with it. I hate fishing in very calm scorching hot bluebird sky days.
  7. I have some rust issues on my trailer and plan on cutting out the rot. Spraying zink primer (the best for this application but must be bought from a paint shop)and covering it with thin aluminum diamond plate. I have the templates but I just need to get them cut. It is gonna look sweet. Also try an automotive type paintable undercoating that should seal it for a while.
  8. You really should have hit him in the nads with the butt end of the net. Then when he asked what that was for hit him again in the face with it. I think that qualifies as sexual harassment and is criminal and you need no witnesses. File charges, you don't need a witness to mess with his life in court. You could also tell hubby since you have done nothing wrong. And hopefully your man will go smack the sh-t ot of him like he deserves. Sounds like a no good peice of sh-t to me. You are in the right and definitely deserve the respect of any angler. have him arrested.
  9. I think maybe because it is just you versus a creature with it's own agenda that is always changing. Catching fish is exciting not catching fish is booorrrriiinnnggg. Driving my boat is exciting, sometimes the only exciting part of the day.
  10. I think it's all about personality. I am not an Ike fan but I certainly respect him and what he has done. Charlie is annoying for sure, but guess what. People are talking about him. Like him or hate him he is what he is. A television PERSONALITY.
  11. I have honestly learned more from Bill Dance in my 33 years than ANY other T.V. personality. Bar none.
  12. That is very much a smallmouth. Every once in a while smallies are weighed in on lakes here with no recordable smallie population. Sometimes people will put them in their lake hoping to make them populate. It problably doesn't work and is against the law but they do it. Definitely a young smallie.
  13. I have caught smallies ranging from very light in color with very bold stripe patterns to a very deep brown almost blackish color with minimal striping. These have been caught in the same outing from the same area in very clear water. Some had red eyes some didn't. Largemouth n spots pretty much have vertical bars through their bodies while smallies have a tiger striped uneven pattern from their lip to the base of their tail.
  14. Here is my boat. An 01 TR-20 with an 01 225 Optimax. It has a new updated powerhead. Top speed is 72 gps with the 25" prop and around 80 with a 27" I ran out of lake at 78.1 gps with more rpms to go. Sorry it's dirty I had just come from the lake to a tournament meeting. Here is a short video I tried to shoot on my camera. The water had a funky chop on it so I had to stop and drive with two hands.
  15. How many locks are in that 60 miles? I run at the river and have locked through two locks, man that eats up the time. 2 locks 20 minutes each to lock down and back up on a good day 2 hours driving. Thats like 3 1/2 hours. There are good fish in most pools. Thats seems like a huge waste of time there. I have an Opti with the extra intake on the nosecone of my gearcase. I rarely drop below 20# of pressure. At the highest setting on my jackplate my prop is above my hull. No problems. My farthest runs are usually 35-40 miles but I have made a couple much longer at close to WOT.
  16. P-line flouroclear.
  17. Here you go. Start out like a regular texas rig. Push the hook all the way through. Pull slightly back on worm and barely skin hook worm making sure it lies strait. You can put hook into worm slightly more if you need a more snagproof lure.
  18. That sounds like a great day!! Of course you had to wait to catch a big one before you left. Even if you had to haul the mail to pick up your daughter from school right!!! ;D
  19. Nice fish!! Yeah that is quite a nice surprise! Muskys are awesome.
  20. I usually start out with 5 or so on the deck and 4 in the rodlocker. My goal is to have one on the deck at the end of the day. Meaning I have figured out exactly what the fish wanted that day. a flippin stick a spinnerbait rod a topwater rod a spinning rod for tubes a spinning rod for worms a heavy crankbait rod a light crankbait rod and two backup rods These vary with the lake and time of year. If I fish in another boat I bring 4. a spinnerbait rod a spinning rod dual uses tubes n worms a 7' jig rod and 1 crankin stick
  21. Nice fish!! I have caught 1 spot over 2 pounds and about 60 small ones the same day from 1 area at the Ohio River. They are definitely feisty. I think they may be a little more athletic than smallies but the smallies are stronger.
  22. Thanks guys!! I caught two bigger ones Sunday. They are posted further down in the threads. I used a chatterbait for these and a spinnerbait for the others. This place is walking distance from my house and it gets very little pressure. It's not a pond. Whenever I need to get out for a few I hit it up. Much easier than hooking up the boat and all that hassle at the launch ramp.
  23. If I am catching them good I will try and move up to a larger bait of the same type and color and fish it a little slower.
  24. I went out walking again today this time armed with just a couple chatterbaits. I went so I wouldn't be so rusty for a tourney this weekend I was out for about two hours and caught six fish here were the best four. The other two were only about 8 inches. I guess I am saving alot on gas, I would usually take the boat out but this is just as fun.
  25. They release Steelhead every year in Lake Erie and you can go up in the fall and fish the breakwalls around the river inlets they let em go from. They come back big in a few years and are very sought after, people line up arm to arm in the creeks and rivers. If you fish the breakwalls you have the first shot at them. It was Around 30 tto 35 degrees that day with water temps in the mid 50s and falling. I think I will make it a point to focus on them a little next fall!!
