In whichever way a bass might take your crankbait, you don't "feel" it as quickly. The fish gets hooked up before you can set the hook too soon and pull the bait away. That is the theory. The rods flex also plays in your favor so the bass has a harder time throwing a treble hook bait.

It has to be an open R bend spinnerbait.

It might be difficult to explain without pictures but, here it goes. Double a good amount of line and start an overhand knot (DO NOT PULL IT TIGHT OR EVEN CLOSE) holding what would be the tag end in your hand, reach through it with your thumb and forefinger, and grab the doubled portion of the line (normally this would be the loop that the bait is connected to) and pull it through. Hold the pulled through end in one hand and everything else in the other. Place your thumb and forefinger in the doubled loop and spread them to spread the opening. (you must do this in order to "flip" the knot) (when you do it correctly you can actually watch the knot flip over) Drop the blades of the spinnerbait through the opening. Pull tight. Confused? Tie a Palomar to a hook slowly and watch all of the motions and you will be able to visualize how it works without a bait on it. In time it can be done in seconds.

You can actually tie a Palomar knot and then, attach the spinnerbait to it. Bobby Murray showed me at a seminar. Very useful.

I had a mild case and wore a band for a couple of months. The band takes the pressure off of that particular tendon, allowing it to relax and heal. Taking anti inflammatory drugs (Motrin) to help. Mine felt fine while I was wearing he band. One day we went out to dig post holes for a fence. After digging holes that day, (I can't remember if I had the band on or off while digging) it has not hurt (not even a little) since then. I just thought a guy as well educated as him would want the record set straight. I found that fact rather interesting too. Please elaborate. There is the theory that birds carry things (in this case crawdads) and people will say bass (or other fish) eggs on their feet and bellies and drop them into other bodies of water. I have heard that science doesn't support this theory.
