  1. I think it stems from deep seeded psychological torment. Intense therapy, three times a week is a must. Now, please, sit down on my couch here and tell me what you see when you look at these ink blots... a bass... hmmm I see, very interesting... and this one... a bass again... I sense a pattern developing... how is your relationship with your mother?... ;D
  2. Expensive Casting: G Loomis Spinnging: G Loomis Cheap: Casting: BPS, Cabelas Spinning: BPS, Cabelas
  3. Mojo rods are good, but fish an IMX or a Legend Tournament for a day and you'll modify your comment. To get to the original question its a toss up, great rods though. I love my IMX custom. X2 Mojo aren't even in the same league. Definitely go with the IMX, they're amazing rods and like others said, loomis really backs their product.
  4. Casting ridiculously far and casting accurately Having confidence that I'm doing/using the right thing I can usually always manage to scrape up some fish even if they're not big Netting fish (I found this out last summer when I got my a#$ handed to me by my boater at a tournie on the potomac)
  5. I have one and I love it. I use mine for frogs and jigs mostly but I'm not sure about swimbaits, I'm sure some of the Cali guys can answer that for you. I do know that you won't be able to use any large swimbaits with it though.
  6. 1) that is a monster! I can't imagine catching a pig like that, let alone in a tournament. 2) anyone notice that he is still sponsored by laserlure. I know a lot of guys thought that it was a one time deal for the classic.
  7. He broke the rules and then he let his emotions get the better of him. Believe me, I'm not one of those people who is always going to shut up and take things sitting down when I feel I've been wronged (ask my teachers lol) but trust me, when I know its time to shut up I shut up, and with $50,000 on the line I would definitely be shutting up.
  8. X2 I'd rather be embarrased than find out I lost by an ounce because I threw back a midget!
  9. I get a lot of my fishing stuff through a friend who owns a tackle business for prices much lower than retail. I can get pretty much anything from him a lot cheaper. And getting a $89 rod for $50 is around a 45% discount if I'm not mistaken, not 55%. I'm sure his mojos aren't stolen, he probably has good connections. Congrats on the new rod and the great deal man. With all the buzz about these rods I don't think you're going to be disappointed .
  10. Zunes are bricks man! If he was lugging a zune around all day he wouldn't need to go to the gym to work out! I love iPods, I carry my ipod classic around all day and its slim enough to fit in my pocket comfortably.
  11. Yea... blue man nudity in any context is highly unnecessary lol.
  12. Like others said, I think it would be arrogant to assume that we're the only life forms in the universe. That doesn't necessarily mean that the other is developed or that it is capable of contacting us but you never know...
  13. Thanks for the reply, I'll definitely wait a little longer with the fluoro then. And I know my mono compulsiveness is 100% completely over-the-top unnecessary but like I said I have OCD when it comes to certain things, fishing line being one of them lol. Fresh line is just a confidence thing for me and even though I know its completely unnecessary to change it as much as I do I still feel better knowing that I'm using fresh line. It's just one of those things.
  14. So true, a lot of cheaper reels feel great and really smooth at first but in a month or two you can hear them across the lake. The Tournament LTD might turn out to be a great reel but until its been reviewed and used more I would save up for an extreme like Fishing Rhino said. Remember, a cheap product isn't a value if you have to replace it in a month.
  15. I searched and I couldn't find any posts relating to this question so I'm hoping it hasn't been asked a million times before but... I'm still relatively new to fluorocarbon, I used it some last year and I was really happy with it and I'm planning on using a lot more this year. My question is, how often should I be changing my fluorocarbon? I compulsively (fishing OCD) change my monofilament every other trip but with the higher price of fluorocarbon I'm hesitant to change line as much. My problem is that I'm fishing tournaments pretty much every weekend for the next two months so should I be changing line before every tournament like I usually do or could it go without changing longer. My biggest concern is the tournaments so if I need to suck it up and change line frequently I will but if I can go a few trips without changing line I'd like to. What do you guys think?
  16. I bought some 12lb at BPS during the spring classic. I wanted to get their XPS fluoro but they were basically sold out of everything so I went with the red label. I used it during a tournament this past weekend and it handled fine. I landed a 5lb smallie with it so overall I'm pretty happy so far but I'm going to reserve final judgement until I've used it more.
  17. Bet she was a blond also. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  18. Also... Mirror of Dead Faces Cannabis Corpse (no not cannibal corpse, cannabis corpse lol) iwrestledabearonce (yes, its one word) Holy Sh** Dude I also would like to throw out the strangest/longest/weirdest song name ever... "Papyrus Containing the Spell to Preserve its Possesor Against Attacks from He Who is in the Water" by Nile Its a good song but the name is a five-paragraph essay lol
  19. Try some big LC pointers, I'm partial to the huge 128 size but 100s are excellent too. With the cold water, you need to wait a long time between jerks. Usually from 15-30 seconds but sometimes as much as a minute. Trust me, it works. I was fishing big pointers in a tournament yesterday and I got a bad backlash. I had been working on picking it out for over a minute when a bass struck and doubled my rod over. I managed to get her in and she measured 20" and a little over 5lbs. Make sure you're patient, 30 seconds can feel like a long time between jerks so count it in your head. 8-)
  20. In flipping, your reel should be engaged so you shouldn't be getting any backlash at all. When flipping, you already have the amount of line out you need to reach your target, the reel is engaged, and you use the hand not holding the rod to help you release the line to your target. The reel isn't actually letting any line out. Try reading some of the articles here about flipping or find some instructional videos on youtube.
  21. Exactly. Not to mention that when you are out of the strike zone, the fast retrieve helps get it back faster for the next cast. Eddie X3. Its much less work and more practical to slow down a fast reel than it is to speed up a slow reel
  22. I agree for the most part but the metal name scene is starting to get a little stagnant... As I Lay Dying, Everytime I Die, Through the Eyes of the Dead, With Dead Hands Rising, Bury Your Dead... all variations on the same concept. One of my favorite bands and band names is Bring Me the Horizon. For some reason I just think that name is epic lol.
