Pflueger Reels
I have several president spinning reels and a president baitcaster and I love all of them. However, like Bassyak said about the summit, the president baitcaster doesn't feel nearly as solid as some of my more expensive reels. I have also began to have some minor problems with my thumb bar.

Quick Change Spinnerbait Blades
I like to change blades on my spinnerbaits based on water clarity and conditions but it is always a pain to swap out the blades. Does anybody have a system that lets them change blades quicker. I was thinking about replacing the swivels with sampo snap-swivels so I could just snap new blades on. Any suggestions?

Bass Pro Rods
I used to use only bass pro rods until I made a cast with my first loomis. Even the most expensive BPS rod doesn't compare. For the money the midrange rods (extreme and pro qualifier) rods are pretty good though IMO. If you can get them in one of the frequent sales they are definately worth the money. Quality wise they're okay. The best part is if they ever break BPS will exchange 'em no questions asked.

got my new energy pt burner today
I had to tighten everything when I first got mine two. My spool would barely turn and I thought I had a serious problem but as soon as I tightened everything it was fine. Energys are great reels. They are every bit as smooth as my tour edition IMO. Oh, and welcome to the forums.

What bait's?
I agree with cajun, don't worry about what the locals are using. Thats what the fish are gonna get pounded by every week. Throw what you have confidence in.

Burner Reels?
Like everyone else said you can use it on anything but deep diving cranks. I really like mine for worm fishing because it takes up slack line really quick.

setting hooks on wacky rigged senkos
I watch the line very closely and as soon as I see a twitch or feel a hit I reel in the slack line and set the hook.

What is your favorite hollow body frog?
I can't seem to find a hollow body frog that I really like. I have tried a few and so far my favorite is the Spro Bronzeye. The big problem that I have with it is that it takes on water like crazy, especially the junior size. I'm looking for an alternative to the Bronzeye (unless it is the best out there). What do you feel works best?

What Length rod should I choose?
I don't know about that. If I were to get all purpose rod it would be a 7' medium heavy. All my MH rods cast lighter lures (1/4 oz) just fine. I think a MH has a much wider range of applications than a medium does. The only case where I would get a medium as an all purpose would be if it was a spinning rod where lighter lures are used.

Whats the strangest way you've seen people fishing?
yeah its awful... awful funny. Too bad you didn't have a video camera.

Whats the strangest way you've seen people fishing?
Whats the strangest way you've seen people fishing? The strangest way I've seen somebody fish happened at a pond a few years ago. There was this guy there with a massive surf rod who was casting a 12" saltwater popper the entire way across the pond (this pond is not small either). He would work it the entire way across the pond making the lure splash and chug like crazy and then he would make another cast. He never did catch anything...

How often are you "SKUNKED"?
At one of the lakes if fish i've never been skunked, actually I can't remember the last time I caught fewer than 10! Another lake that I fish (I dubbed it The Lake From @$#%) I used to get skunked 75% of the time until I started fishing it at night (now I only get skunked 50% of the time ;D) Overall though, excluding The Lake from @$#%, I get skunked about once a year.

Fluorocarbon for topwater plastics and frogs.
like dodgeguy said, don't use it, it sinks. Sinking line kinda defeats the purpose of top water.

When is a good time to change your line?
My mono and fluoro line gets changed every 2-4 trips depending on the lakes I'm fishing. I always change line before a tournament. Better safe than sorry. For braided line I change it when it starts to get frayed or faided, or when I simply want to put on fresh line.

flippin and pitching rod
Length does make a difference, I'm currently using a 7ft MH rod. I have discovered that I want a flipping rod with a little more backbone so my winter project is going to be building a split grip flipping rod on a loomis GLX heavy action blank.

storing plastics
I believe it is a Mann's mosquito hawk. As far as storing plastics go, i have all of my plastics in four jumbo worm binders. For tournaments (I fish as a rider mostly so I can't take all 4 binders!) I take the individual bags that I anticipate using from the binders and put them in the large pouch on the side of my tacklebag.

Storm Swimshad Swimbaits RIP???
my local target sells them. i'm not a big storm swimbait fan. I generally tend to stay away from lures that can be bought at true value and target.

Pointer Vs. X-Rap
I have fished with both the pointer and the x-rap and I can honestly say that the pointer consistently outperforms the x-rap. I think the pointer is definitely worth the price.

Looking at Pflueger President combo
I love my president. You can get better reels at higher prices but you can't beat 'em in their price range.

How much do you spend on fishing stuff?
$1000-1200 a year. Its kind of hard for me to determine month by month because I buy a lot more fishing stuff in the winter-spring than I do in the summer.

Working For BPS
One of the guys in my club works at BPS. He said the 40% discount on BPS tackle is great but he also said that it is very hard to get vacation time and that he has to work on holidays. Ironically he said that BPS has actually sucked up more of his fishing time than any other place he has ever worked at!
