How Do I Find Tournaments??
Most people who run tournaments will leave flyers laying around at tackle shops near the lake or at marinas. Whenever you're at the ramp, just ask around, somebody will have the info you're looking for. Tournaments are easy to find.

Stanley Cup Final: Canucks Vs. Bruins
Although I want to see the Cup being lifted by an East team, I think the Canucks have a little too much fire power to lose the series. Vancouver in 6.

For A Sport That Only Makes Left Turns...
'Sunday Money' was Dale Sr.'s yacht. When Andy Petree got married (here in town) Dale Sr. put Andy and his new wife on 'Sunday Money' for a week long honeymoon cruise as a wedding gift.

Lake's That Just Go "cold"!!!
I'm not sure if this is what's happened to your lake or not but this can happen on any lake in the postspawn period. The bite is hot and heavy during prespawn and spawn, then after the spawn the fish take a break and 'disappear' for a little while. Try fishing at night and see what happens.

Lew's Tourny Pro Vs. Curado E7
I bought 2 Lew's Tournament Pro's and so far they have been great. Of all the reels I currently have (Premiers, STX's, Curado) the Lew's is probably the easiest to cast and definitely the easiest to skip baits with. I was concerned at first about the durability of the drag on the Lew's reels but I landed an 18# musky with no problems at all. As expected, that musky stripped drag like there was no tomorrow but once it tired out, the Lew's had won the battle. We'll see how they hold up over time but for now, I'm a believer.

Smith Mountain Lake
Yeah, I just saw somewhere else that he failed the polygraph. Sucks to be him for sure. Congrats to JD. The big fish had lockjaw this past weekend, no doubt. Too bad we couldn't fish the Oakley Tournament at night.

Toothaches Suck
I feel your pain SF Bass Addict. There's nothing worse than a toothache. Clove oil does the job, but man that stuff is nasty. Plus if you get any on your lip or mouth it burns like crazy. I had a cracked tooth for probably 8 or 9 years. It never bothered me until a few weeks ago when the crack got bigger and the tooth abcessed. So I went in to have it pulled, no big deal. Well it turned into a big deal. When he was pulling on it with his pliers it broke off. His pliers then smashed into another tooth, breaking about a 1/4 of that one off. He had to cut my gum open to remove the rest of the root and stitch it back up. He wanted to fix the other one right then but I was too mad to sit there any longer. I went back 4 days later and got the other one filled. I hope it lasts because like I said, there's nothing worse than a toothache.

Smith Mountain Lake
There was also at least 2 other club tournaments that I know of in addition to the Oakley and the BWS. The Oakley tournament had around 300 anglers and was a big bass tournament with weigh ins/payouts every hour. The biggest bass of the whole weekend (which was 6.28) won the boat. The BASS Weekend Series was a typical tournament format (anglers + co-anglers) and had 22 boats.

Baby Rage Craw
Whenever I throw a finesse jig it has a Baby Craw on the back. The claws put off a pretty good little kick. Perfect size for a finesse jig as well.....the slim body design doesn't bulge the skirt out like other trailers tend to do and does not get in the way on a hookset. I've found that to be a very important factor on a finesse jig with a smaller hook.

Smith Mountain Lake
I wasn't too excited about the Oakley tournament when it was first announced but after talking to a few friends and learning a little more about it, I think I'm going to enter it now. Hopefully they get a full field so the hourly payouts will be what is advertised. But if I heard it correctly, they're giving the boat away whether they have a full field or not. That will make someone's day for sure. Good luck va pred, I'll be in my black Gambler....holler if you see me.

Skeet Reese
Didnt a thread come up exactly like this one last year that was about why KVD was doing so bad and then he came back and won AOY? I haven't looked at the point standings so I assume Skeet is too far out to make a comeback?

Gsp Vs Jake Shields
I didnt get to watch the GSP Shields fight but I also didnt think I'd miss much. GSP, as great as he is, has gotten very very boring in the cage. He can stand and throw or roll with whoever they put him against but he's become almost too finesse and I just dont like watching his fights anymore. He's at the point where he wants to take as little damage as possible and just 'out-point' someone to death to win. Thats an intelligent plan for a fighter but it really sux for the fans. He's got all the tools, he just doesnt take them out of his toolbox anymore.

Va Smith Moutain Lake Advice
Mid June on Smith Mtn. Fish at night, find the shad and throw topwaters and wake baits parallel to the bank, as close to the bank as you can get. If you want to fish during the day there are about 2 million docks you can fish with senko's and shakyheads or you can crank deep on main lake points or find some brushpiles and do some worm fishin'.

Favorite Aftermarket Treble Hooks
I have been using Daiichi Death Trap trebles for a few years now. They were always crazy sharp until the last box I got. I ordered them from a wholesaler who buys in bulk and reboxes them. I first believed I got the wrong brand hooks but the ones I got were black nickel just like the Daiichi's so maybe I just got a bad batch. I have bought Owner ST-36 trebles at some local shops and they're really sharp hooks. I will probably buy more of those in the future because they are easier to find and just as good as the Daiichi's. As for split ring pliers, dont cheap out on those. Most I've seen are just cheap junk and the tips aren't exactly split ring friendly and end up being more of a pain to use. Get a pair of Texas Tackle Split Ring Pliers, you will thank yourself later.
