New Pb Rainbow Trout
Thanks Glenn. This fish came out of a "Lake". But this place is part of a chain of lakes that are all connected. I originally started Bass fishing in this "Trout" designated lake last year because the fish were bigger and NO One was fishing for them. Since then I've landed my PB LMB, Pike and now Rainbow from this place. I would see these trout busting all over the lake. So yesterday I snapped on a couple of small Rapala minnows and set out trolling the shore and edges of the drops I've seen the most action. She at a brown trout colored bait(In #5 size) that I up graded the hooks on. A Med-Light action 7' spinning rod w/ 10lb braid and a 6 lb flouro leader. To get the bait down a bit I used what is basically a Carolina rig with a 1oz weight and a 5 ft leader. It was the only fish of the day. A-Jay

Did A Little Re-Con
Yea, I was trying real hard to cull that smaller fish to get to a 20lb bag but never did manage a bigger bite. So it ended up @ 18 and change. A-Jay

New Pb Rainbow Trout
The cool clear waters of the North Woods produced this Gorgeous trout today. I was very excited when she interrupted my lunch. It may be a while before I top this one. A-Jay

I'm Thinking I Need To Start Fishing Deeper.....
Sounds like a plan Chris ~ I'm wondering if blind casting a crawler in deeper water might mean weeding through some smaller bass and even add pan fish to your by-catch before you get to that Nine pounder - which by the way, is grossly obscene to even think about A-Jay

Berkly Hollow Belly
I hear that ~ especially when you are routinely feeding them to pike 3 or 4 times a trip ! ! AAAHHHH ! ! A-Jay

Berkly Hollow Belly
Once the bait gets the right size, these baits are magic here. On the deep clear water drops, a jig head is the only way to go. And to fish it through the drops with wood or weeds, the Owner Sled head jig is Out-Standing ! (thank you Rolo) A-Jay

State VS State Results Thread
Thanks - a whole pound huh ? I don't know if that's a good thing or not. The PA state record smb is a bit smaller than the MI fish, so percentage wise we would have to find, hook and some how land that wild monster smallie that haunts your dreams every night . . . Either way, I'm heading out again right now. Did I mention I really Love this retirement gig . . . . btw- the wife says you should come up here and puppy sit so she can go fishin' . . . A-Jay

State VS State Results Thread
I'm on the Board - This sweet smallie lunched a 3/8 oz hand tied jig Here's her score ~ 4.75/9.25 x 100 = 51.35 I'm happy but like everyone, I'm hoping to up grade. Of course, Dwight has taken the "Up Grading" concept to a whole new level . . . A-Jay

Did A Little Re-Con
Set out on a new lake this afternoon. Wind finally let up enough to get out. Water and air temp were both at 50 but the sun was beaming nicely. Poked around for half the day with nothing to show. Then found a nice sheltered bay with a creek emptying into the back of it. Pitched my go-to 1/2oz jig & craw to a decent drop which included quite a bit of wood and on the first pass, the bait never made it to the bottom. I love it when that happens. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/gallery/album/107-first-5-fish-bag-of-2011/ A-Jay

Jerk Baits Rule
Nice job Dwight - Looks like guys put a beat down on several high quality Brown Bass and as a bonus ~ you know it's a trophy when you have to break out the BOGA Grip ! A-Jay

B's Vs Flyers
The Flyers are starting Boucher in goal again for game 2 tonight. This should make Philly fans happy because he's the best net minder they have. This should also make Boston fan happy for, well pretty much the same reason . . . . A-Jay

Were Now Down To Hours.....
I tried to get again today but had to call it early as the winds were just too much - gusting over 30 ! It was just un-fish able. It's early but it is MAY - so I'd appreciate it if mother nature would squeeze the breeze a little and sooner rather than later would be NICE ! A-Jay

B's Vs Flyers
Game 1 goes to the Bruins - 7-3. Flyers will make the adjustments and the Bruins will look to keep it rolling. This game went the opposite of what I expected. The Boston D really got involved in the Offense and It payed off. If they keep that up they might start getting burned . . . . . A-Jay

Were Now Down To Hours.....
Oh yea ! and the 15-25 mph winds Gusting to over 40 mph fore casted will make the day just that much more pleasant - waited 5 months, what's another day . . . Stay Safe everyone A-Jay

Hello From Michigan
Hello and welcome to BR As far as learning - It would be Very Hard Not to. A-Jay

Go Habs Go
I hoipe you're right - Philly's seems to have more offensive ability than the B's, especially right now - ie, ZERO power play goals for the Boston team in the last series. If the first line for the Bruins can crank it up again to mis season for, they may be able to expose the Flyer's weaker goal tending. And as usually Tim Thomas will have to continue to be very Stout for Boston. A-Jay

Anyone Else Have This Awful Habit?
Nice - That's what cured me ! A-Jay

Go Habs Go
Yup - I think the players and the fans (at least this one) are more relieved by the overtime win than happy. The bruins get Philly and really owe them Big Time for Last Seasons debacle . . . A-Jay
